Mr Melendez Your Wife Wants Divorce Long Ago novel Chapter 279

**Title: Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 279**

The moment Arabella entered the room, the two men exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of surprise and concern.

Arabella, her voice slightly slurred, broke the silence, “What are you guys doing here?”

Jayceon, noticing the unmistakable signs of her intoxication, turned to Steve, his brow furrowed with irritation. “You didn’t close the door properly when you came in, did you?”

Caught off guard, Steve instinctively placed a hand over his heart, his voice shaky as he replied, “I, uh, was probably too nervous, I…”

As Steve fumbled for words, Jayceon’s attention was diverted. He turned just in time to see Arabella stride purposefully into the bedroom, her confidence buoyed by the alcohol.

Before either man could react and intervene, a sharp sound echoed through the air.

“Smack!”

Arabella’s hand connected with Georgina’s face, the force of the slap jolting Georgina awake.

Steve stood frozen, watching as his boss, who had spent the entire night trying to incapacitate Georgina, now found himself thwarted. He had barely managed to retrieve her hidden phone, the very device that held crucial information, when Arabella’s unexpected entrance disrupted everything.

The tension in the room thickened, and Steve felt a cold wave of fear wash over him as he witnessed Jayceon’s expression darken. The air felt heavy, and he dared not even breathe too loudly.

Georgina blinked, her mind racing as she registered Arabella’s presence. She quickly sobered, her disbelief evident as she stammered, “How can you be here?”

Arabella, pointing an accusatory finger at Jayceon and Steve, declared, “Woman, wake up, you’re being…”

But before she could finish her warning with the word “played,” Jayceon swiftly grabbed her, pulling her away.

Georgina’s heart sank at the muffled sounds of Arabella’s protests. Panic surged within her as she dashed toward the dining table, her hands trembling as she rummaged through her purse. Relief flooded her when she discovered the phone was still safely tucked away in its hidden compartment.

“What just happened? How did I fall asleep?” Georgina asked Steve, her voice a mixture of confusion and urgency.

Steve’s eyes flickered nervously, and he braced himself to respond, “I’m sorry, Ms. Carrillo. I didn’t close the door properly when I came in. You drank too much, so Mr. Melendez helped you to bed to rest. We didn’t anticipate that the missus would burst in and create a scene with Mr. Melendez, which accidentally woke you.”

So that was the chain of events that had unfolded.

Georgina’s mind raced with frustration. If it hadn’t been for that meddling Arabella, she and Jayceon might have already crossed a significant line.

When Jayceon finally returned to his own room, he found Georgina waiting at the door, her expression a mix of anticipation and desperation.

His eyes swept over her figure, taking in the sheer material of her nightgown, and he couldn’t help but frown, sensing the tension that hung in the air.

Georgina approached him cautiously, her movements deliberate. She lifted her arm slightly, allowing the strap of her gown to slip down her shoulder.

With a voice that dripped with seduction, she murmured, “Jay, I’ve been waiting for you for so long. Can I come into your room to rest for a bit? There’s something I want to talk to you about alone.”

Jayceon, however, was not blind to Georgina’s intentions.

“I have an urgent matter from back home to deal with. Whatever it is, we can discuss it tomorrow,” he replied firmly, his tone leaving little room for argument.

Georgina’s gaze fell on the unmistakable scratch marks on Jayceon’s neck, a surge of jealousy tightening her chest. She clenched her fists, feeling a wave of helplessness wash over her.

Standing at the threshold of Jayceon’s suite, panic gripped her. He had just come from that insufferable Arabella’s room, and the evidence was clear: the lipstick smudged on his lips and the marks on his skin told a story she didn’t want to hear.

Despite the strain in their relationship, they had maintained a physical connection, yet since her return, especially in recent days, Jayceon had remained unresponsive to her advances.

In that moment, he seemed like a monk, detached from any earthly desires, leaving Georgina feeling more alone than ever.
