**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 320**
“Honestly, Arabella,” Tabitha said with an encouraging smile, “if he’s willing to slip you this money under the radar, you should just take it. Kim and I won’t breathe a word to anyone.”
Arabella shook her head vehemently, her heart racing at the very thought. “I can’t take this money. It just wouldn’t sit right with me.”
Kimberly, ever the mediator, leaned in closer with a persuasive tone. “Listen, if my brother is giving it to you, then it’s yours, plain and simple. And honestly, it’s not even that much. Just deposit it into your account. What’s the harm in that?”
Not that much? Arabella felt a wave of discomfort wash over her.
“Kim, I really can’t accept this money!” she insisted, her voice a mix of frustration and resolve.
Deep down, Arabella knew all too well the complexities that came with the men in the Melendez family. Her marriage to Jayceon had ended in divorce, and she had fought hard to establish her own financial independence. The last thing she wanted was to entangle herself in yet another complication.
Seeing Arabella’s determination, Tabitha sighed, resigned to the fact that she would have to take the card back.
With a palpable sense of relief, Arabella exhaled, grateful for the reprieve.
The three of them settled into a comfortable rhythm, sharing a meal and exchanging laughter, the initial tension gradually dissipating into a warm camaraderie.
Outside, however, Georgina was lurking, her gaze fixed on the trio through the restaurant window.
As she watched Tabitha carefully pile food onto Arabella’s plate and Kimberly share a laugh, jealousy bubbled up inside her. Why was Arabella, already divorced from Jayceon, still enjoying the companionship of these two women from the Melendez family?
Fuming, Georgina ducked behind a billboard, her heart pounding as she waited for them to finish their dinner.
Once the three emerged, she observed as Tabitha and Kimberly climbed into a car and drove away, leaving Arabella to navigate the street alone.
Seizing the moment, Georgina dashed over, positioning herself right in Arabella’s path.
“Why are you blocking my way?” Arabella asked, her brow furrowing in confusion and irritation.
Georgina straightened her posture, trying to exude confidence. “Arabella, you’ve already divorced Jay. I need you to stay away from him and his family from now on.”
Arabella couldn’t help but think that Georgina had completely lost her grip on reality. “In what capacity are you warning me?” she retorted, crossing her arms defiantly.
Georgina’s voice dripped with condescension. “Jay divorced you for me. What do you think that makes me?”
She was convinced that if Jayceon decided to help her, it would be with a substantial amount.
Arabella leaned closer, her voice low and threatening. “Even though I’m Jayceon’s ex-wife now, I could easily call Mrs. Melendez right this moment, and they’d have you slapped three times a day. Do you really think I wouldn’t?”
Georgina’s eyes flickered with a mix of emotions, and when she finally spoke again, much of her earlier bravado had vanished. “Arabella, we’re both women. Why make this harder for each other? I just want to remind you that now that you’re divorced from Jay, you should keep your distance from his life. Don’t try to make your presence known.”
Sighing heavily, Arabella replied, “Georgina, instead of wasting your breath arguing with me, you should focus on securing a marriage certificate with Jayceon as quickly as possible. Otherwise, when Sir finds another suitable match for him, you’ll find yourself in a far worse situation.”
With that, Arabella turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Georgina seething in anger.
Arabella’s words had struck a nerve, and Georgina stomped her foot in frustration. She had meticulously planned and waited for this moment, finally seizing the opportunity now that Jayceon was single.
She would not allow any other woman to steal her chance.
As Arabella crossed the street, she paused, shaking her head at Georgina’s ignorance.
It seemed she needed to expedite her promise to Jayceon and help him by hypnotizing Georgina sooner rather than later.
