**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 115**
Jayceon sat in the opulent room, the weight of his ancestors’ expectations pressing down on him like a heavy cloak. Across from him, his elders loomed, their expressions stern and unyielding. He took a deep breath, letting the tension settle in his chest before speaking softly, yet firmly, “Whether I choose to pursue a divorce is a matter that is deeply personal to me. Despite your status as my elders, it is not your place to interfere in my decisions.”
The sound of Sir’s cane striking the polished floor echoed through the room, a dull thud that punctuated his displeasure. “You must understand, Jayceon,” the old man began, his voice sharp as a blade. “The Melendez Corporation is not merely a business; it is the culmination of generations of hard work and sacrifice from our family. As the heir, you cannot afford to have any scandals stain our name. If you cannot resolve this situation with that Arabella girl, then do not be surprised if I take ruthless action against the Palmer family!”
The atmosphere shifted palpably, and Jayceon’s cousins, Tabitha and Kimberly, rose to their feet almost synchronously, their expressions filled with urgency. Kimberly’s voice broke through the tension, “Grandpa, you must understand that the Palmers are my sister-in-law’s family. They have done nothing to provoke your ire. You cannot target them like this!”
Tabitha stepped forward, her voice trembling with a mix of defiance and concern. “Dad, you have to remember that Arabella is Jayceon’s wife. You must show some respect for her, for the sake of decency and the fact that she is not the enemy here!”
But Sir remained unmoved, his eyes cold as ice. “Your opinions are irrelevant in this matter!”
Jayceon felt a surge of anger rising within him, his dark eyes narrowing as he spoke each word with deliberate intensity. “Grandpa, if you dare to touch the Palmer family, you will live to regret it!”
With the support of Oliver, Sir rose slowly to his full height, the tension crackling between him and his grandson like electricity in the air. They stood in silence for a few moments, the weight of their shared history hanging heavily around them.
Sir’s voice took on a more menacing tone, “I will do whatever it takes to eliminate anyone who dares to obstruct your future or hinders the growth of the Melendez Corporation. Whether her last name is Carrillo or Palmer, it makes no difference!”
Jayceon felt his hands clench into tight fists at his sides, his body tense with the struggle between loyalty to his family and his love for Arabella. Sir continued, “Before the hearing, you must resolve everything and leave no loose ends. If you fail to do so, I assure you, the one who will regret it will be you!”
The two men locked eyes once more, the silence stretching until Jayceon turned sharply on his heel and exited the room, leaving behind the echoes of their confrontation.
Later that night, in the luxurious confines of The Azure Bay Estates, Jayceon found himself wrapped in the solitude of his thoughts. He wore nothing but a dark bathrobe, its belt hanging loosely at his waist, the open collar revealing the contours of his lean physique. As he moved through the dimly lit bedroom, he felt the cool air brush against his skin, a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing inside him.
With a glass of wine in hand, he stood before the wedding photo that adorned the wall, his gaze fixed on Arabella. She looked radiant in her white wedding dress, a joyful smile lighting up her face as she nestled beside him, forever captured in that moment of bliss.
