Mr Melendez,Your Wife Wants Divorce Long ago novel Chapter 149

**Chapter 149**

Arabella was the one who seemed to harbor an unyielding distrust towards him, a sentiment that felt like a weight pressing down on Jayceon’s chest, stifling any hope for understanding between them.

As Jayceon remained ensconced in silence, Samuel broke the tension with a sharp remark. “Don’t think you can just do as you please, Jayceon, just because there’s something off in your head,” he said, his voice laced with concern and irritation.

In response, Jayceon handed Samuel a glass of wine, his gaze piercing as he shot him a warning look, silently conveying that this conversation was veering into dangerous territory.

Just then, the shrill ring of Jayceon’s phone broke the moment, resonating off the coffee table like an unwelcome intruder. He answered it with irritation, only to hang up moments later, frustration etched on his features.

Almost immediately, a message from Georgina flashed on his WhatsApp screen, demanding his attention. Jayceon glanced at it, the corners of his mouth tightening as he picked up his phone and typed out a response, his mind already racing with thoughts of the conversation that had just transpired.

Samuel, ever the observant friend, sat up, his brow furrowing in concern. “Doesn’t Georgina struggle with depression? You just hung up on her. Aren’t you worried that might set her off, that she could lash out at others?” His tone was serious, a hint of worry creeping into his voice.

Jayceon frowned, irritation bubbling beneath the surface. “Sam, you shouldn’t speak about Georgina that way. She’s dealing with a lot. Leandro lost his backpack, and she was just trying to ask me about it,” he replied, feeling defensive.

Samuel raised an eyebrow, skepticism dripping from his voice. “What does her son losing a backpack have to do with you? You’re the CEO of Melendez Corporation, not a babysitter.”

Exasperated, Jayceon pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to stave off the headache that was forming. “Georgina had back-to-back livestreams today. I was the one who picked up Leandro for her. It’s not like I’m doing this for fun,” he explained, his voice strained.

Samuel stared at him, disbelief written all over his face. “You, the mighty CEO, not spending time with your parents or your wife, but instead playing chauffeur for someone who’s not even in your life anymore? You really are something else, Jay.”

Jayceon’s expression darkened, a storm brewing behind his eyes. “You’re all just biased against Georgina. If she weren’t absolutely desperate, she wouldn’t even reach out to me,” he shot back, his voice low but intense.

Samuel rose from his seat, his demeanor shifting to one of seriousness. “Listen, we’ve been friends since childhood, so I’m going to level with you. If you keep this up, you and Arabella are heading for a disaster,” he warned, his tone earnest.

“Think about who Arabella was before she married you,” Samuel continued, his voice softening slightly. “She was vibrant, confident, and full of life. She thrived on the drama, the laughter, the joy. Now, look at her. What happened to that woman?”

Samuel’s gaze bore into Jayceon, urging him to see the truth. “If you genuinely want to make amends, explain everything to her. But for the love of all that’s good, stay away from Georgina and her son. Don’t provoke Arabella again.”
