**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
By J.S. Caldwell
**Chapter 205**
“Georgina,” Arabella began, her voice steady yet laced with an edge of triumph, “you need to remember this very clearly. As long as Jayceon and I remain married—legally bound by vows—we are still a couple in every sense of the word. I can spend his money as I please, and I can share his bed whenever I choose. And if, by some twist of fate, I decide to grant the Melendez family an heir, you, my dear Georgina, will find yourself completely erased from the picture.”
With that, she leaned back, her expression a mix of defiance and satisfaction. “So, while I haven’t changed my mind just yet, you’d best hurry along and figure out how to persuade Jayceon to divorce me.”
Georgina felt a surge of frustration but knew she had to retreat for the moment. She had come to Arabella seeking a glimmer of hope, but instead, she was met with cold reality.
As she packed her belongings, Olivia arrived, her brow furrowing in confusion at the sight of Georgina in the midst of moving. “Georgina, you just settled in not long ago. Why are you already packing up again?”
Georgina’s eyes glistened with unshed tears, her voice trembling as she replied, “Mrs. Melendez has made it abundantly clear that I am unwelcome here. She’s been relentless, and Jay is worried that I might be at a disadvantage, so he suggested I move back for now.”
Olivia shook her head, trying to instill some confidence in her friend. “But Georgina, you’ve already given Mr. Melendez a son! What could possibly make you feel afraid? If push comes to shove, just create a scene. Mr. Melendez’s heart is with you, isn’t it? So what is there to fear?”
Georgina’s gaze dropped to the floor, guilt washing over her like a heavy tide.
The truth was stark: her son was not Jayceon’s biological child. What right did she have to create a scene? After returning to the country, she and Jayceon had shared nothing more than fleeting moments. If only he had allowed her to draw closer, she would have been the proud wife of the Melendez heir by now. How could she bear this humiliation any longer?
She grasped Olivia’s hand, her voice a whisper of desperation. “Olivia, the Melendez family is one of the most prestigious in Zelmere. The chasm between Jay and me is insurmountable. It’s only natural that the Melendez elders look down on someone like me.”
“I don’t care about titles,” Georgina continued, her voice gaining strength. “As long as I have Jay’s love, that is all that matters. I want to work hard, to achieve something significant, so I can finally feel worthy of him.”
Then, with a hint of hope, she added, “Olivia, you hold a noble status. It’s truly a blessing to have a friend like you. They say that the more friends you have, the more opportunities come your way. You’re well-connected, and I’m counting on you to help me navigate this world and introduce me to the right people. Just promise you won’t grow weary of me.”
Olivia smiled warmly, placing a reassuring hand on her chest. “Georgina, you needn’t worry. From this moment on, my circle will be your circle. I’ll make sure to introduce you to all my friends.”
Georgina felt a glimmer of satisfaction curl her lips into a smile.
