**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 255**

The tension in the room was palpable as Georgina and Jayceon exchanged glances, their expressions revealing a shared realization. It was clear to Arabella that the one responsible for Edmundo’s injury had to be none other than their son, Leandro. The weight of this implication hung in the air, thickening the atmosphere around them.

Arabella chose to remain silent, her heart racing as she observed Jayceon’s demeanor darken ever so slightly. Georgina, on the other hand, wore an expression that danced between disbelief and concern, her brow furrowing as the implications settled in.

As the silence stretched, Franklin, ever the polite mediator, turned to Arabella with a curious tilt of his head. “Dr. Palmer, do you know each other?” he inquired, his voice steady yet probing.

Before Arabella could gather her thoughts to respond, Georgina interjected, her tone defensive and assertive. “Mr. Franklin, we know Dr. Palmer quite well,” she declared, as if to establish a connection that was more significant than it truly was.

Franklin nodded, his understanding evident, but the undercurrents of tension were not lost on him.

“Mommy,” Edmundo whimpered, nestling against Arabella’s shoulder like a small, wounded animal seeking comfort. His little face pressed against her neck, seeking solace in her warmth.

Arabella instinctively patted Edmundo’s back, her heart aching for the child as she carried him past Jayceon, her movements deliberate as she entered the hospital room.

Georgina, visibly shaken, clutched Jayceon’s arm, her voice rising in disbelief. “Jay, did you hear that? That child just called your wife ‘Mommy’!”

Jayceon, however, brushed her off with a subtle push, his voice low and dismissive. “You heard wrong,” he replied, though a flicker of concern crossed his face. He was aware of Franklin’s reputation, a prominent figure in the legal world who rarely mingled with the High Society Families of Zelmere. Their interactions were minimal, and he couldn’t fathom why Arabella would know him. Surely, their relationship was strictly professional—doctor and patient.

As they stepped into the hospital room, the sight that greeted them was one of tenderness: Arabella sitting by Edmundo’s bedside, her presence a balm to his distress.

Georgina approached Franklin, her earlier bravado evaporating like mist in the morning sun. “Mr. Franklin,” she began, her tone softer, almost pleading, “this is all my son’s fault. He’s just a child and doesn’t understand the consequences of his actions. Please, don’t take it to heart.”

Franklin stood firm, a child’s sippy cup in hand, his demeanor calm yet authoritative. “Ms. Carrillo, you didn’t seem to possess this level of humility when we first met, did you?”

Georgina’s head dropped, embarrassment flooding her cheeks. The teacher had merely indicated that her son had struck a classmate; she had hoped to smooth things over with a discreet bribe, only to be met with insistence that both sets of parents discuss the matter face-to-face. Her strategy of intimidation had backfired spectacularly, and she now found herself facing someone of Franklin’s caliber—a man she could not afford to offend.

She glanced at Jayceon, her eyes pleading for support.

“Mr. Franklin,” Jayceon began, his voice steady but conciliatory, “I recognize your expertise as a lawyer, and I believe it’s in everyone’s best interest to resolve this matter amicably rather than escalate tensions. I’m willing to cover double the costs for your son’s medical and nutritional needs, and I assure you, Leandro will publicly apologize to your son. We hope you’ll consider settling this privately.”
