**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
By J.S. Caldwell

**Chapter 256**

Without a moment’s pause, Arabella declared, “Zachary, I need to attend the conference in three days. Please, let Devonte take my place on the New York trip at the end of the month.”

Zachary’s brow furrowed as he pondered her request, “But if you’re heading to Port City, you’ll have to leave tonight.”

“I can leave whenever I need to,” Arabella replied, her voice steady, masking the whirlwind of emotions churning within her.

Zachary’s gaze swept over her, taking in her resolute posture and the determination etched on her face. After a moment of contemplation, he nodded in agreement.

A torrent of emotions surged through Arabella, each wave crashing against her resolve. This was her chance to have the abortion done swiftly in Port City, sparing her the agonizing wait until the end of the month. She felt a mixture of relief and anxiety, her thoughts racing as she navigated the familiar corridors toward the elevators.

Just as she reached the doors, an unexpected grip on her wrist startled her. She turned to find Jayceon’s concerned face, his expression tight with urgency.

“Let’s talk in my office,” she said sharply, shaking off his hold.

The silence that enveloped them as they walked to her office felt heavy, each step echoing with unspoken words. Once the door clicked shut behind them, Jayceon pulled her into his embrace, wrapping his arms around her as if trying to shield her from the world outside.

Arabella struggled against him, her heart racing with frustration. “Let me go, Jayceon!”

But he held her tightly, his voice muffled yet filled with a desperate plea. “Arabella, I’m so sorry. I should have clarified my relationship with Georgina right from the start!”

She pulled away slightly, meeting his gaze with a mix of anger and hurt. “You knew it was wrong, yet you chose to do it anyway.”

Jayceon’s eyes were filled with regret. “If I had been upfront about Georgina, the whole school would have known about Leandro being an illegitimate child. He’s just a kid; he can’t bear that kind of burden yet. Please, you have to understand!”

With a forceful motion, Arabella broke free from his grasp, stepping around her desk to create a barrier between them. “Congratulations, Jayceon. You’ve finally acknowledged that Georgina is your wife!”

His eyes glistened with unshed tears as he shook his head vehemently. “No, Arabella, that’s not what I meant!”
