Mr Melendez,Your Wife Wants Divorce Long ago novel Chapter 268

**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 268**

Georgina had become the center of suspicion, and Jayceon felt the weight of that reality pressing down on him like a heavy fog. He knew he had to keep her close, nestled safely within the confines of Zelmere, lest she become frightened and flee. Turning against her was not an option—at least, not yet.

If only Arabella could be persuaded to listen, he thought, then he could lay bare the truth about Mark and share his intentions. But he could sense the walls closing in around him.

Arabella lifted her gaze toward Jayceon for a fleeting moment, then returned her focus to her task, her voice laced with an edge that cut through the air. “Your business is none of my concern. I’m not interested!”

The heart of Jayceon’s turmoil lay in the fact that Georgina’s son was not his own flesh and blood. This undeniable truth made it impossible for him to sway the elders of the Melendez family to accept his relationship with Georgina openly.

Frozen in place beside Arabella, Jayceon found himself captivated by the reflection of her icy demeanor in the mirror. The sight was a bitter reminder of the chasm that had grown between them.

It was painfully clear.

She loathed him at this moment, and rightfully so.

How could she ever find it within herself to trust him again? To understand him? To support him in his darkest hour?

His gaze fell, drifting to the craft that Arabella had just completed—a small, delicate creation that seemed to pulse with unspoken emotions.

Curiosity got the better of him, and he asked, “What’s with the sudden fascination with crafts?”

Arabella rose to her feet, her expression shifting as she locked eyes with him. “Jayceon, I had a nightmare last night. In my dream, a baby was calling me Mommy. He was so, so cold that day!”

Their eyes met, and in that moment, Jayceon could see the pain etched into her features. His heart ached as he noticed the redness in her eyes, a reflection of her sleepless night.

His throat tightened, and he couldn’t help but reach for her hand, his grip firm but desperate. “I’m so sorry,” he murmured, “it’s all my fault.”

Arabella withdrew her hand from his grasp, placing the small ornament into his palm with a tenderness that belied her anger.

“I drew a picture of my child, used AI to create a photo, and sealed it in this crystal glass pendant,” she explained, her voice steady yet filled with an undercurrent of sorrow. “Jayceon, you’re overflowing with love, even for a son who isn’t real. Your own son feels cold; you should be able to warm him, shouldn’t you?”

With that, Arabella turned on her heel and walked away, her back a rigid line of resolve.

As she reached the doorway to the bedroom, she hesitated, glancing back one last time.

Jayceon slumped in the makeup chair, utterly defeated.
