**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 290**

Little Edmundo perched himself on the chair next to Arabella, his innocent eyes wide with curiosity. He leaned closer and whispered, “Mommy, that man doesn’t look happy.”

The way Edmundo referred to her made Jayceon’s expression darken, a storm brewing behind his usually calm demeanor.

Arabella, sensing the tension, turned her gaze toward Jayceon, her brow furrowing in concern. “What’s got you looking so dreadful?”

A flicker of emotion danced in Jayceon’s deep-set eyes, and when he spoke, his voice was surprisingly soft, almost tender. “Are you worried about me?”

Arabella, feeling the heat of his gaze, dropped her eyes to the table, unable to meet the intensity of his stare. “Even if you’ve acted like a complete bastard, we’ve shared over twenty years as childhood sweethearts.”

In an instant, Jayceon seized Arabella’s hand, his grip firm yet desperate. “Arabella, I knew you still held feelings for me. Tonight, I’ll go and apologize to Mom and Dad. I’ll take you home, alright?”

Arabella’s heart raced, but she couldn’t let his enthusiasm sway her. “After everything you’ve done to me, do you really think an apology will suffice?”

Jayceon squeezed her hands, his voice earnest. “Arabella, please trust me. Just give me one more chance. I swear I’ll never hurt you again.”

Arabella took a deep breath, contemplating his words. “If you’re genuinely sorry and want my trust back, then fine. But first, you need to divorce me.”

Before she could finish her thought, Jayceon jerked his hands away, shock etched across his features.

“After everything that’s happened, you still want a divorce?” he asked, disbelief lacing his tone.

Arabella, feeling a mix of frustration and determination, pouted slightly. “I’ve already told you. If we get divorced, then I’ll trust you. I’ll give you a chance to win me back. Are you really that unwilling to let go?”

Just then, their waiter approached, serving their meals before retreating. Edmundo, oblivious to the tension, focused intently on his food.

Jayceon, his face darkening further, swapped his cut steak with the one in front of Arabella. “Don’t think for a second that I don’t know what you’re trying to do.”

He had once been willing to pursue her, but a divorce? That was a line he would not cross.

Arabella studied Jayceon, feeling a wave of deflation wash over her. Throughout her childhood, she had always admired his many virtues. He was tall, athletic, and undeniably handsome, with striking features that could charm anyone. He was sharp-minded, reserved, and polite, traits that had captivated her for years.

Yet, now, she saw the other side of him—his obsessive stubbornness, particularly when it came to their relationship. His fierce protectiveness over Georgina was a glaring example, as was his unyielding stance regarding their marriage.

Noticing Arabella’s continued silence, Jayceon softened his tone, attempting to bridge the gap between them. “I’ll be heading to M Country tomorrow for a project meeting. Is there anything you’d like me to bring back for you?”

Arabella met his gaze, determination flickering in her eyes. “The best gift you could give me would be a Divorce Certificate.”

Their eyes locked, and the air between them crackled with tension. Jayceon’s expression hardened once more.
