**Chapter 299**

He’s a lawyer; he’ll definitely find a way.

Arabella pulled out her phone, her fingers hovering over the screen as she contemplated her next move. Just as she was about to pivot and walk away, she felt a firm grip on her wrist. It was Jayceon.

“Are you thinking of reaching out to Franklin for help?” Jayceon asked, his voice low but piercing.

Arabella felt her heart race, the truth of his words striking a chord within her. She averted her gaze, trying to mask the turmoil swirling in her eyes.

Still holding her wrist, Jayceon stepped back and perched himself on the edge of the hospital bed, his expression serious and intent.

“Arabella,” he continued, his eyes locked onto hers, “he hit me on purpose. That’s attempted murder right there. And guess what? A dozen HD cameras caught the whole incident. With the Melendez Corporation’s legal team involved, even if Franklin is capable, this situation won’t just fade away.”

Arabella jerked her hand free, the sudden motion reflecting her rising frustration.

“If you decide to sue Blaire for attempted murder,” she warned, her voice sharp, “I’ll make sure everything about your dad’s infidelity and his illegitimate child comes to light. And let’s not forget your own indiscretions!”

Jayceon’s face darkened with anger. “So, you’re that eager to protect him?”

Arabella turned her face away, the tension thickening the air between them.

For a moment, they stood in silence, the weight of their emotions pressing heavily upon them.

Finally, Jayceon relented, “Alright, I won’t sue him. But I have conditions.”

Arabella narrowed her eyes, suspicion creeping in. “What kind of conditions?”

He held her gaze, unwavering. “I want that troll to come here and apologize to me. And you’ll take care of me until I’m discharged.”

“Is that all?” she asked, skepticism lacing her tone.

Jayceon nodded, his expression serious. “He hit me. I’m letting it slide for your sake, but I need that apology. I’m injured, and you’re my wife. Is it too much to ask that you take care of me until I’m out of here?”

Arabella hesitated, her mind racing. Blaire was the one who had struck Jayceon, and ultimately, it was her fault. Jayceon was cunning and experienced; that hot-headed troll was no match for him.

Franklin had made an exception to take on her divorce case, a favor she felt she could hardly repay. She couldn’t bear to bother him again unless absolutely necessary. But if Jayceon was willing to forgive, perhaps she could manage this situation for a few days. Flexibility might be her best approach to avoid losing out.

“I can arrange for Blaire to apologize and take care of you,” she finally said, “but you’ll need to draft a settlement agreement.”

Jayceon’s demeanor shifted, his face turning cold. “Arabella, you’re my wife. I’m only letting him off the hook for your sake. Don’t push your luck.”

“You’re the one who deceived me about Georgina first,” she replied, her voice rising. “How can you expect me to trust you after that?”

Her words landed like a heavy blow, momentarily silencing him.

“Steve,” Jayceon commanded, his tone brooking no argument, “go print a settlement agreement for me to sign. And make sure the security room deletes all of today’s surveillance footage.”
