**Chapter 52**

In a moment of hesitation, Georgina shifted the conversation, her voice tinged with caution. “Jay,” she began, her heart racing, “given that you’ve fabricated the paternity test and your family has accepted my son, would you consider putting your name on his birth certificate? It would really simplify the school enrollment process and might even ease your family’s doubts.”

Jayceon’s demeanor shifted, his expression becoming grave as he absorbed her request. “Gina,” he replied, his tone serious and contemplative, “I can’t ignore the fact that, despite my guilt towards you, there are lines I simply cannot cross.”

With that, he turned away, leaving her standing there, a mix of frustration and sorrow swirling within her. Georgina watched him climb into his car, her heart sinking as he drove off, never once glancing back.

Their marriage was undeniably in shambles now, yet he clung to it, refusing to take the step towards divorce. It was as if the threads binding them were more resilient than she had ever anticipated.

Six years ago, when their love had burned bright and fierce, no matter how much Georgina had yearned for him, Jayceon had always maintained a distance, never crossing that sacred boundary. Even now, after her return, he remained steadfast in his resolve, guarding his emotions and refusing to let their past intimacy resurface.

It was only natural that after six long years apart, during which she had married and had a child with another man, Jayceon’s feelings might have waned. Yet, the moment she re-entered his life with a simple phone call, he had instantly abandoned everything—taking care of Arabella and her son day and night for an entire month without returning home.

Lately, it seemed he had been accommodating her every whim, and Georgina couldn’t shake the feeling that remnants of his affection for her still lingered. However, she knew she had to keep her own feelings hidden until he finalized his divorce. For now, her strategy was to step back, allowing her plans to unfold while carefully using Leandro to her advantage.

As long as she held on to hope, she believed Jayceon would eventually find his way back to her.

The following afternoon, while Jayceon was away, Arabella returned to their shared home, her heart heavy with unresolved emotions. She had left the hospital in a whirlwind, barely having time to gather her belongings. With a sense of urgency, she hastily packed a suitcase, discarding items she deemed unnecessary into the trash.

While rummaging through a supermarket shopping bag in the bathroom, she stumbled upon a collection of everyday essentials—matching toothbrushes, mouthwash cups, towels, and slippers, all in a delightful array of colors.

Arabella felt a pang of bitterness as she realized Jayceon must have gone out of his way to purchase these items, intending to make her feel at home upon her return to the mansion. Yet, after hearing his words in the study, she had demanded a divorce, and he hadn’t touched those things since.

A bitter smile curled her lips as she made her way to the study, where her gaze fell upon the paternity test report sprawled across the desk.
