**Chapter 88**

As Georgina stood before Arabella, an overwhelming wave of inadequacy washed over her. Despite the turmoil within, she forced herself to lift her chin high, striving to embody a sense of grace and composure. The tension in the air was palpable, and she couldn’t help but taunt, “You know, Jayceon is a very responsible man. He won’t divorce you—not just because of the elders, but also because he feels sorry for you.”

A heavy sigh escaped Georgina’s lips, a mixture of sympathy and triumph. “I can see how difficult this must be for him. I won’t pressure him to end things with you. After all, his heart has always belonged to me and our son. All you’ll ever have from him is a title.”

“Damn you to hell!” Arabella’s voice was laced with fury, each word sharp and cutting.

Suddenly, Emmett burst onto the scene like a storm, unleashing his anger as he kicked Georgina into the street.

“Ah!” she cried out, the sound a blend of shock and pain.

“Emmett!” Arabella shouted, panic gripping her heart.

The screech of tires pierced the night, mingling with Georgina’s agonized scream as she desperately tried to warn the approaching car. In a horrifying instant, she was struck, her body flung several meters away, landing hard on the pavement. Helpless, she lay there, gasping for breath, her voice a faint plea for assistance.

The driver, startled and concerned, rushed out of his vehicle, fumbling for his phone to call the authorities.

“Sir, please!” Georgina begged as she reached for the driver’s pant leg, desperation etched on her face. “Don’t call the police! The boy who hit me is just in high school; he’s not an adult. If you report this, it will ruin his future!”

The driver, taken aback by her compassion, nodded repeatedly. “You’re a good person for thinking of him,” he said, quickly dialing for an ambulance instead.

Meanwhile, Arabella stood frozen, her mind racing. Her brother had instigated this chaos. If Georgina chose to pursue charges, Emmett would indeed face the consequences.

“Go home, Emmett,” she instructed firmly, her voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside her. “Tell Mom and Dad what happened. I’ll go with Georgina to the hospital.”

As Georgina was wheeled into a hospital room, Emmett trailed behind, worry etched across his young face. Just moments later, Jayceon arrived, his presence commanding attention. He strode past the Palmer siblings with purpose, heading straight for Georgina’s bedside.

Upon seeing him, Georgina attempted to sit up, her heart racing. She threw herself into his arms, tears streaming down her cheeks. “Jayceon!” she sobbed, relief and despair mingling in her voice.

Jayceon, caught off guard, instinctively glanced at Arabella, who averted her gaze, a mixture of emotions swirling within her.

He gently pushed Georgina away, his expression serious. “Tell me slowly, what exactly happened?”

Georgina took a deep breath, glancing at the Palmer siblings before attempting to compose herself. “Jay, I’m so sorry. I heard your wife was back, and I wanted to apologize to her. I thought maybe she could come home and we could all live peacefully.”
