When we arrived at my cousin’s house, she was sitting in the center like a star, letting my aunt pass around her phone showing photos of the small island.

She had heavy makeup on, which was unusual for her as she prided herself on her natural beauty, especially at home.

Despite this, I could still see her haggard and exhausted appearance, which the makeup couldn’t hide.

My mom also spoke up, “I think Emma looks quite tired. Why don’t we leave and let the child rest?”

My aunt immediately jumped up, “Are you jealous that our Emma has an island now? Your Lily couldn’t get tired even if she wanted to!”

The two almost came to blows, but in the end, they sat down harmoniously to eat the specialties brought back from the island. I was truly amazed by these sisters.

As I was watching the show, Emma came up behind me and asked in a low voice,

“Lily, I always feel like you’re very smug. Did you know about this all along?”

I looked up in surprise and asked, “What do I know? I didn’t even want to come today. Who here isn’t laughing at me for losing an island?”

Emma glared at me fiercely before walking away.

I stared at her back for a long time. When she turned the corner, I noticed her slightly unnatural gait and finally looked away.

It seems the show has begun. I wonder if sister needs more audience?

Later that day, my sister didn’t appear again. My aunt, with an unnatural expression, said that Emma was feeling unwell.

After distributing some specialties to everyone, the gathering dispersed.

My mom kept saying beside me, “Could Emma be suffering from unfamiliar environment? I saw she looked uncomfortable all day. Your aunt

is just showing off. She had to call everyone over as soon as Emma got back. Would she die if she didn’t brag?”

I glanced at her and said, “No wonder you two are sisters. Don’t you have to announce everything in the group chat? Let me ask you, would you die if you didn’t show off?”

Before she could explode, I got into a taxi and left.
