My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 232

Cora had just reached the door when she saw three strangers inside. Eavesdropping, she quickly realized it was Kim and his parents.

She couldn’t help but peek inside again, giving away her position.

Looking at Kim, she had to stifle a laugh. For a young master of the Rosenberg family, he was a walking advertisement. His shirt, pants, and shoes were covered in massive logos, and a gaudy, diamond-encrusted watch adorned his wrist. His looks were average at best—not ugly, but not handsome either—the kind of face that would disappear in a crowd. He was maybe five-foot-nine and a bit on the chubby side.

In short, if it weren’t for the Rosenberg name, he’d be lucky to get a date at all.

Cora was about to hide and continue watching the show when she realized Sandra had seen her. She quickly ducked out of sight.

Leaning against the wall, she thought for a moment. That look in Sandra’s eyes was a clear signal: go get Lionel.

But…

Kim’s family was here, and his mother was making it clear that only death could cancel this wedding. The marriage was a sure thing. So why should she rush to get Lionel? Let Sandra get a good lecture from her future mother-in-law first.

Seeing Cora leave, Sandra assumed she was going to find Lionel and felt a surge of confidence. As long as Lionel got the message, he would come. She just had to hold on a little longer.

“Sandra, I’m talking to you! Are you deaf?” Miranda Rosenberg snapped, pointing a finger at her when she didn't respond.

“Let me tell you something. Your parents took a hefty sum from the Rosenberg family for this marriage. If you back out, they’ll have to pay it back tenfold. That was the deal they made!”

The last of Sandra’s composure shattered. She looked at Miranda in disbelief. She knew her parents were greedy, that they would sell their own daughter for personal gain, but she never imagined they would go this far.

Cora had said Lionel wouldn’t go to Hannah. So why wasn’t he here yet?

Had Cora not gone to find him?

That damn snake. She knew she couldn’t be trusted.

Sandra sneakily reached for her phone, found Lionel’s number, and dialed.

Lionel was in the smoking area. When he saw Sandra’s name on the screen, he hesitated, a battle raging within him.
