My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 234

Hannah quickly got ready, and she and Quennel left for dinner.

Back at the hospital, the combination of the medication and Lionel’s return made Sandra drowsy. Soon, she was fast asleep.

Lionel sat on the sofa, his eyes half-closed as he stared at his dark phone screen, his mind in turmoil.

Hannah on one side, Sandra’s wedding on the other… and all of it orchestrated by Quennel.

“Sir, are you thinking about going to see your wife?” Cora asked, noticing his tormented expression.

Lionel didn’t answer, his grip on the phone tightening. “If Sandra wakes up, tell her I went to the office to handle some work.”

Cora was about to say more, but he was already striding out the door.

He was so obviously going to see Hannah, yet he still made up such a clumsy excuse.

When Sandra woke up, she would tell her everything. That he had rushed out to see Hannah, and that the reason he’d been so late to arrive in the first place was because he’d been with Hannah.

No matter what, she had to make their relationship completely toxic.

Lionel drove to Quennel’s house and rang the bell, but no one answered. He tried the building’s main entrance, with the same result. Only then did it occur to him to call Quennel.

At the rooftop garden restaurant, Quennel and Hannah were seated at the best table, overlooking the glittering lights of Sova. The elegant music filled the air, and for the first time all day, Hannah’s restless heart began to calm.

Just as Quennel was about to speak, his phone vibrated. He glanced at the caller ID and then looked up at Hannah.

When it came to business acumen, no one had expected Lionel to surpass Quennel. Though he was only managing a subsidiary, its performance had improved year after year. The family was already whispering that he would soon be transferred to the head office, threatening Quennel’s position.

Yet, Quennel had never shown a hint of insecurity or resentment. In fact, he had publicly praised Lionel’s talent, making it seem like he was genuinely proud. Only Lionel knew that Quennel was constantly trying to sabotage his projects behind the scenes.

“Your wife wants to divorce you, and your lover is about to marry someone else. Is it my fault you’re too incompetent to hold onto either of them?” he sneered. “Instead of wasting your time calling me, you should be with your mistress. You wouldn’t want her to wake up and find you gone.”

With that, Quennel hung up and returned to the table to enjoy dinner with Hannah.

An hour later, they headed home. As they stepped out of the elevator, Hannah saw him.

Lionel was sitting on the shoe bench by the door.
