My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 273

Lionel read the post. It was, as he suspected, problematic and intentionally vague.

He put the phone down and looked at Hannah, trying to keep his voice calm.

“How about I have someone help her write a new one, and she can post it again?”

Hannah raised a skeptical eyebrow, looking him up and down before letting out a cold, humorless laugh.

“Lionel, why don’t you just have your PR department write it for her? Then all she has to do is post it. Why go through the trouble of ‘helping’ her?”

She rolled her eyes and started to walk away, then paused. “Or was that your plan all along, and you were just trying to be diplomatic about it? It’s fine. Do whatever you want. I don’t care.”

“After all,” she continued, “this whole apology thing was your idea, not mine. I don’t care if she apologizes or not. The only thing I care about is whether you’ll be at the courthouse on time in a few days to sign the divorce papers.”

Hannah walked upstairs, leaving the two of them in the living room.

Sandra watched until Hannah was out of sight before turning back to Lionel, her eyes red and her voice choked with emotion. “Lionel, I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault. If… if I had just written it better, Hannah wouldn’t be so angry.”

Lionel pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a frustrated sigh.

Seeing his reaction, Sandra’s heart pounded with fear. It was rare for Lionel to show such disapproval of her. She had only been trying to get under Hannah’s skin one more time.

“I’m not getting someone to help you,” Lionel said, his voice firm. “You’ll rewrite the apology yourself. If Hannah isn’t satisfied, you’ll write it again. And again. You’ll keep writing it until she is.”

In all the years she had known him, he had never treated her like this.

“Wait, Lionel,” she said, a sudden realization dawning on her. “This apology wasn’t Hannah’s idea in the first place. You’re the one who forced me to do it!”

She rushed to his side, grabbing his hand. “You know me better than anyone. You know I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I apologized, Lionel. If you forgive me, Hannah will too.”

She gently shook his arm, looking up at him with pleading, tear-filled eyes.

“Lionel, please forgive me. I promise I’ll never do something so stupid again. Please, just forgive me.”
