The living room echoed with Sandra’s agonizing cries and Jason’s furious shouts.
All the while, Hannah, Samuel, and Peter sat quietly in their seats, watching the scene unfold as if it were a live theatrical performance.
After about ten minutes, Jason’s arm grew tired, and he finally stopped.
“Hannah, I know what I did before was wrong, but you’ve seen it for yourself! I haven’t bothered you all these years. It was this bitch! She came to me… I was just momentarily swayed by her manipulation.” He pleaded, “Everything I just said is the truth. She’s the one lying and trying to frame me. Please, don’t believe a word that lying bitch says!”
Hannah glanced at Sandra, who was lying on the floor, gasping for breath. She felt not a shred of pity.
“It seems you’ve truly turned over a new leaf, Mr. Cooper, and were simply led astray by a wicked person,” Hannah said calmly. “Since you’ve confessed everything, I’m not one to hold a grudge. However, your presence in Sova is an eyesore. I’m afraid I’ll get annoyed just looking at you.”
With that, she produced a plane ticket. “I’ve bought you a flight. Leave the country. Out of sight, out of mind.”
“Hannah, you… you’re really forgiving me?” Jason asked in disbelief.
Hannah flicked her wrist, and the ticket fluttered through the air, landing gently in front of him. “My grandfather went to the office, but he knows you were captured and planned to deal with you this afternoon. But I’m in a good mood, having finally found my family. I’ve decided to let the past go and do a good deed. So, I’m letting you off the hook.” She stared at the ticket.
“Of course, if you think it’s a trap, you don’t have to go.”
“I’ll go! I’ll definitely go!” Jason scrambled forward, snatching the ticket and clutching it to his chest. He had been certain he was a dead man. He never imagined that turning on Sandra would earn him a way out.
“But it’s much simpler to arrange things abroad.” “Ah!” Samuel’s eyes lit up with understanding. “I get it. So, you’ve already arranged a ‘welcoming committee’ for him at his destination?”
Hannah nodded. “I was in such a hurry, I forgot to give Sandra her present. Want to come with me?”
“What present?” Samuel asked, trailing after her. “And who did you call to pick her up? Her parents?”
“You’ll see when we get to the door.” Hannah took a USB drive from a servant and walked with Samuel to the entrance.
Just as they arrived, Sandra’s ride pulled up. A familiar car stopped, the door opened, and Samuel’s face broke into a playful grin as he saw who stepped out.
