[I was supposed to go to Roxa today to bring Sandra back, but I saw the trending topics were gone, so I decided to come find you instead. But on the way, Quennel called me frantically and told me to get to the factory. I was forced to go, so I couldn't see you. It wasn't my choice to come here. I don't know if you're aware I'm at the factory now, but I wanted to be honest with you, so you don't blame me later for not telling you beforehand.]
As if worried she wouldn't believe him, he even sent her a picture of his flight ticket.
Hannah placed her phone in the center of the table. The other two read the message, their brows knitting in disgust.
Tess scoffed, "Do all men use shifting blame as a superpower?"
"Hold on, it's not all men, it's him," Samuel corrected. "Men are not all the same. It's obvious what happened. He saw the scandal was gone and got excited that he didn't have to make a choice anymore. He immediately drove to the factory to claim his position, terrified that if he was a minute late, the job would disappear and he'd be nothing but a powerless rich kid."
A silence fell over the table.
"I never thought his mind worked like that. It's terrifying. How can one person be so calculating? Just awful, awful," Tess said, patting her chest as if to calm her racing heart.
"You've really had it rough, ending up with a guy like this. But this means the rest of your life will be amazing. You've used up all your bad luck on him. From now on, it's smooth sailing!"
Hannah grabbed her friend's hand, her eyes lighting up.
"My dear, with those words, I feel like I'm destined for greatness and fortune!"
Just as she said it, Hannah paused.
"Wait, when did I unblock this idiot? I'm sure I blocked his number recently. Damn it. I'm blocking him again, right now!"
