She had never experienced anything like this. In the past, people always believed whatever she said. Now, no matter what she said, no one believed her; they just kept doubting her.
Sandra found herself reminiscing about the old days, but those days were gone, never to return.
“I’ve confessed everything, I swear. I don't have a backup of that video, I really don't. If you don't believe me, then just kill me! Stop torturing me!”
The man looked at Sandra’s broken form, said nothing, and turned to leave.
“Where are you going? Say something! Take me to see Quennel! I have things to say to him! And where is this place?”
Seeing them leave, Sandra scrambled to follow.
But after just a few steps, the chain pulled taut, yanking her back so hard she slammed onto the floor.
“Aargh!”
Her body, already raw from the whip, was now battered from the fall.
Sandra’s spirit shattered completely. She lay on the floor, wailing uncontrollably.
She had thought that handing over her most valuable piece of evidence would secure her a good deal.
She could start a new life. She never imagined that the video would become the very thing that sealed her doom.
She was filled with regret. She regretted not going back with Lionel when he had come for her. If she had left with him then, things might not have ended up like this!
“Lionel, where are you? Please, come save me! I’m begging you, please come save me!”
Sandra lay on the floor, staring at the empty doorway, but there was no one left to hear her pleas.
Everything happening inside the cell was recorded and sent to Quennel.
