He never imagined his attempt to help Hannah would be so misunderstood. It seemed unlikely she would see him now.
After all, she’d had security throw him out. She must be furious.
The thought made his expression grim, and he was filled with regret.
He hadn't thought things through. He had genuinely just wanted to help her.
Though he couldn't wait there, he drove to another spot nearby to wait for her to leave work.
As dusk fell and stars began to pepper the sky, Lionel saw Hannah and Samuel leaving the office building. He quickly got out of his car and jogged over to them.
“Hannah, I need to talk to you.”
The moment Hannah saw Lionel approaching, she took two quick steps back, putting a clear distance between them.
“Mr. Rosenberg, please keep your distance. I’m afraid you might suddenly become violent. What you did in front of our company building today has already been posted online. If this continues, you are going to severely damage our company’s image.”
“That’s not what happened, let me explain. I just saw him bullying you and wanted to teach him a lesson for you.”
Hannah let out a short, humorless laugh at his words. She slowly raised her eyes, a mocking smile on her face.
“Mr. Rosenberg, you wanted to ‘help’ me? May I ask what our relationship is? We are in the process of getting a divorce, and yet you interfere, creating a massive headache for me and my company.”
