Samuel gave him a skeptical look, his eyes darting from Lionel's face to the earbud he was offering.
After a moment's hesitation, he took it and put it in his ear.
As the recording played, Samuel's brow gradually furrowed, and his suspicious gaze fixed on Lionel.
Lionel watched his reaction without a word, waiting.
A few minutes later, Samuel took the earbud out and handed it back.
“What's the point of this?” he asked.
“The person speaking is Sandra.”
Samuel's eyebrow twitched.
Although he hadn't had much contact with Sandra, he knew enough about her. He had suspected the voice belonged to her from the moment he started listening.
“And? What are you trying to say?”
Samuel's brow tightened, his expression growing darker as he stared at Lionel.
Lionel was confused by Samuel's reaction; it wasn't what he had expected at all.
Did he play the wrong recording by mistake?
He doubtfully picked up his phone and listened again. It was definitely Sandra's voice.
“Samuel, did you not understand what she was saying?”
Samuel couldn't help but roll his eyes. He crossed his arms, his face a mask of arrogant disdain.
