Chapter 193
Skye’s POV

I saw a group of women rushing toward us, their faces lighting up with excitement.
Despite the December chill, most wore revealing outfits that showcased their curves and long legs. They moved like sharks that had just detected blood in the water, pushing and shoving each other to get closer to Adrian.
“Oh my god, it’s really him!” one squealed.
I raised an eyebrow, surveying the unexpected scene. Apparently, Adrian now had his own fan club, not just Xavier. The crowd had grown considerably since we’d first arrived in town for the trials. What had started as a competition among Alphas had turned into something resembling a celebrity event.
Alpha Adrian! Can I get a photo with you?” A blonde in a crop top pushed forward, phone already extended, her hands trembling with
excitement.
“You’re so much hotter in person than online!” Another woman in a tight red dress practically bounced with excitement, batting her eyelashes dramatically.
Adrian smiled politely, maintaining a respectful distance. His posture remained relaxed, but I could see the slight tension in his jaw. “Thank you for your support,” he said, his voice calm as he accepted a pen to sign something a brunette thrust at him.
I instinctively moved closer to Adrian, the wolf inside me growing increasingly irritated. These women completely ignored my existence. A few even pressed themselves against him, one placing her hand directly on his chest while another pretended to take a selfie while sneaking her face near his neck.
1 clenched my jaw, trying to control my rising anger. But when a woman in a tight black dress reached out to touch Adrian’s waist, sliding her fingers along his belt, something in me snapped.
“Ma’am, please show some respect,” I said firmly, stepping forward to create space between them.
The woman turned, looking me up and down with clear disdain. She blinked in surprise, then let out a mocking laugh. “Who are you supposed to be? His bodyguard or babysitter?”
“I’m his Beta,” I replied coldly, straightening my shoulders.
She burst into loud laughter, and the other women joined in, the sound grating on my nerves. “Seriously? Alpha Adrian chose a woman as his Beta? That’s… unconventional.”
Another black–haired woman suddenly pointed at me, her eyes widening with recognition.
“Wait, I know you! You’re that woman from the posts online. Aren’t you supposed to be Alpha Leon’s mate?‘ Her eyes narrowed accusingly. “So the rumors are true. You really do go around seducing different Alphas. Alpha Adrian, you shouldn’t let this kind of woman trick you!”
I balled my fists, forcing myself to stay calm, but Adrian was already moving. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me to his side, positioning himself slightly in front of me protectively. His voice dropped dangerously low, sending a chill through the air that made several of the women step back instinctively.
“You will respect my Beta. I don’t make a habit of being rude to women, but if any of you say another word about her, I won’t hesitate to

have you removed from this town.”

The atmosphere changed instantly. The women’s smiles faded, and they took small steps backward. Some looked embarrassed, others resentful. Within moments, the entire group dispersed, throwing occasional glances back at us as they hurried down the street, whispering among themselves.
Once they were gone, Adrian cupped my face in his hands, his amber eyes searching mine with concern. “I’m sorry you had to deal with. that. I’ll make Maya issue another public apology.”
“Even if Maya apologizes a hundred times, it won’t help,” I sighed, the tension slowly leaving my shoulders. “These women just wanted to humiliate me.” I changed my tone, pinching his chin playfully. “What can I do when my man is so exceptional? Can’t blame them for being jealous.”
Adrian rolled his eyes. “Stop mocking me. You know I couldn’t care less about fans.”
“Don’t underestimate fans and public opinion,” I warned. “Having people support you is a good thing, especially for what’s coming.”
“These people are only supporting a fantasy version of me,” he replied, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “They don’t care about any Alpha’s actual governing principles or what the trials really mean for our kind.”
As we entered the hotel, the elderly owner rushed over, eagerly grabbing Adrian’s hand. Her eyes crinkled with delight, and she practically glowed with excitement.
