My Great Escape Led Me to You (Emily Blair) novel Chapter 773

Andrew Lane didn’t head straight to the hospital—he’d had to attend another dinner meeting first. When he finally arrived, the first thing he saw was Jesse, his expression tense and grim. Andrew immediately recognized him as one of Tristan Davis’s men, the one who’d been keeping watch outside Emily Blair’s hospital room these past few days. Every time Andrew visited, Jesse was always there.

A quick glance around told Andrew that Emily Blair was nowhere to be seen. Coupled with Jesse’s ashen face, he realized something was wrong. “Where’s Emily Blair?” he asked, his voice low.

Jesse had worked alongside Tristan Davis for a long time. He’d witnessed the heated argument between Tristan and Andrew in the hospital corridor not long ago and could easily sense the complicated tension between the two men.

Under normal circumstances, Jesse would never have breathed a word to someone who seemed like a rival for his boss’s affections. But today was different. Emily Blair might have been kidnapped. This wasn’t the time for petty rivalries—especially since Andrew Lane was resourceful and capable, and might even be able to help track her down.

With that in mind, Jesse didn’t hesitate. “Emily Blair might have been abducted,” he said flatly.

Andrew’s sharp features tightened instantly. “Give me the details,” he demanded.

Jesse recounted everything that had just happened, leaving nothing out.

By the time he finished, a barely perceptible flash of anger crossed Andrew’s face. He pulled out his phone. “I understand,” he said curtly, already dialing.

Given how serious things were, Jesse decided pooling their efforts was the best course of action. He gestured for Andrew to get in his car.

Jesse’s first call was to Tristan Davis—he needed to inform him immediately. But for some reason, Tristan was unreachable; his phone just rang and rang.

Frowning, Jesse quickly contacted the rest of the team, ordering them to bring what they needed and meet at the hospital.

In the moments between calls, he glanced at Andrew, who was already arranging to have the hospital’s front entrance security footage pulled up.

Within five minutes, the surveillance video arrived on Andrew’s phone. The footage was crystal clear: a car pulled up in front of Emily as she stood outside. While she was distracted, two men jumped out, knocked her unconscious, and bundled her into the back seat. The car sped off seconds later.

Andrew’s handsome face grew even darker as he gripped his phone. “Find out where that car went. Now,” he barked to the person on the other end.

The video was high-definition. The license plate was perfectly legible. With that, tracking the vehicle would be quick work.

“Everyone’s on it. We’re tracking the car now,” Jesse confirmed.

Tristan hurried into his own car. “Alright, stay on the line. I’m heading over now.”

“Understood.”

Tristan started the engine, jaw clenched as he floored the gas. “If anything changes, you call me right away.”

“Will do.”

Jesse was speeding down the road as well, though he had no idea where the kidnappers had gone—he could only follow the route shown in the security video from the hospital entrance.

Meanwhile, Emily Blair slowly regained consciousness, jolted awake by the bumping of the car. She found herself in an abandoned factory, surrounded by rusted machinery, broken tables, and coils of steel. Everything was coated in dust, and shafts of sunlight streamed through cracked windows, illuminating clouds of drifting motes in the air.
