“You took your time”. He spoke as I got into the truck.

“Are you going to be in the mood for the rest of the drive?”. I sighed.

“I’m not in a mood Leah”. He started the engine and pulled back onto the highway.

“Could have fooled me. I got you this”. Placing the can of Monster in the cup holder I searched through the bag for his chips. “And these”.

“I kinda have been a little bit of a dick, haven’t I? I’m sorry babe just got a lot going on”. He ran a hand down his face before cracking open the can of monster.

“You think?”. I made a face. “You’re so hot and cold right now and then there was the sex in the bathroom which by the way you didn’t let me finish and then-…”. My words stuck in my throat as he signalled into the right shoulder the truck slowly coming to a stop.

“You didn’t finish?”.

I chewed the inside of my cheek as I shook my head no. “That was the first time where we’ve had sex, and I felt completely deflated”. Honesty was the best policy, right? There was no point in beating around the bush.
