My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 132

Justin and his bodyguards had managed to get back on their feet. With Old Mr. Forrester and the others blocking the doorway, they had nowhere to go.

Benjamin's gaze had been fixed on Rebekah since he entered. Her hair was disheveled, her dress was filthy, and her exposed skin was covered in bruises. She had clearly been beaten badly. A sharp pain lanced through his chest, and he turned to Justin, his eyes cold.

"Justin! You dare lay a hand on my wife?"

Even caught in the act, Justin was defiant. "She hurt Candice. I was just teaching her a lesson."

"My wife is not yours to teach!" Benjamin strode forward and punched Justin square in the jaw.

Old Mr. Forrester glared at his other grandson. "A lesson? Is your sister-in-law someone you have the right to punish? You attacked your own family for an outsider! Are you even human? Go back to the estate and kneel in the family chapel. You'll stay there until you understand what you've done!"

Rebekah listened to them go back and forth and laughed inwardly. *The family chapel?* He was protecting him again. Old Mr. Forrester was always good to his own.

Rory let out a derisive snort and pulled out his phone to call the police. "This is assault with intent to harm. This isn't something you can just handle behind closed doors. I'll make the call."

Seeing Rory dial, Old Mr. Forrester's face darkened. "Mr. Powell, this is a family matter. It has nothing to do with you."

Rory ignored him and calmly explained the situation to the dispatcher. Old Mr. Forrester was seething. Why had Justin invited this meddling actor?

Rebekah was in too much pain to stand and swayed on her feet. Rory steadied her.

Benjamin immediately shoved him aside and took his place. "I'll take you to the hospital." He bent down to brush the dirt from her dress and smooth her hair, his movements gentle, his eyes full of concern.

It reminded Rebekah of the old Benjamin, the one who had cared for her and protected her. But it was all fake.

"What?"

Faye looked at her, then saw Benjamin pulling up in the car. "We'll talk later."

***

At the hospital, Rebekah was being examined while Faye and Benjamin waited outside.

"My family has been searching for our precious girl for years. She marries into your family, only to be abused by your relatives. Mr. Forrester, I believe you owe me an explanation."

Faye was acting as if she fully believed Rebekah was a Hawthorne. It seemed too easy. Benjamin was suspicious, but they had taken every precaution. No matter how the Hawthornes investigated, they wouldn't find anything amiss. His grandfather had finally managed to forge a connection with the Hawthornes using Rebekah's identity.
