My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 165

Candice's words were like gasoline on a fire.

'This woman has no shame! I swear to god…'

'She needs to be punished! Where are the police?!'

'Bullies should die! And the Forrester Group, for protecting a murderer, should be destroyed!'

Benjamin's phone began vibrating nonstop in his pocket. He knew it was his assistant. This livestream, and his connection to Rebekah, was about to drag the entire Forrester Group through the mud.

He shot Rebekah a look of pure hatred. This was all her fault.

While Benjamin stepped aside to take the call, Rebekah faced the man.

"You, as her brother, should know better than anyone why Yvonne really died."

"Of course I know!" he shot back. "We were poor. She got into the best high school in the city on a scholarship, and she was always so proud, so sensitive about our family's situation. She couldn't stand being around rich kids like you, and then you publicly humiliated her, calling her clothes trash. She couldn't take the shame, and that's why she jumped!"

His story was a powerful one, perfectly crafted to win the sympathy of the online audience.

The story of a poor girl driven to her death by a wealthy heiress resonated with thousands. Online fury swelled to a new peak.

The wealthy parents in the auditorium, however, remained largely unmoved.

Rebekah couldn't see the live comments, but she could imagine them. Since this old wound had been ripped open, she would use this opportunity to finally clear her name.

"Candice!" He rushed to her side. Candice, her eyes red, whimpered that she'd twisted her ankle. After helping her to a seat, he grabbed Rebekah's wrist, his grip like iron. "You've hurt so many people. Are you going to attack your own sister now?"

His words were another nail in her coffin.

Rebekah's wrist throbbed. "Let go of me!" she cried, struggling against him.

He flung her away with such force that she stumbled backward, losing her balance and tumbling toward the edge of the stage steps. Just as she was about to fall headfirst, a figure shot out from the crowd, catching her and pulling her upright.

A familiar voice spoke from above her.

"The police haven't even arrived yet. Isn't it a bit early to be declaring a verdict?"
