Caleb nodded in agreement. "When he gets back, we'll help you give him a good beating."
For the first time in her life, Rebekah felt the warmth of being cherished by family, and a rosy feeling spread through her heart. Blaze, noticing the tension leave her shoulders, breathed a quiet sigh of relief.
"Let's go," he said to the group. "Time to eat."
The four of them followed the manager into a luxurious private dining room. Although Rebekah had grown up in the Fletcher family and later married Benjamin, seemingly living a life of luxury, she had never truly experienced a place like this. After their secret marriage, she had become a housewife. Benjamin rarely took her to his business dinners, and while he was often busy, he would occasionally send gifts to appease her. But they almost never went out to eat together, so she was unaccustomed to such high-end establishments.
As soon as they were seated, Xavier produced a box and handed it to Rebekah. "Little sister, this is a welcome home gift from me. See if you like it."
She opened the box to reveal a complete set of emerald jewelry. The gems glowed with a soft, rich luster and were clearly of immense value.
"This is…" Although he was her brother, they were still strangers to her. Accepting such an expensive gift felt wrong, but she worried that refusing it would hurt his feelings.
Xavier didn't wait for her to decide, pressing the box into her hands. "Every girl loves jewelry. I spent a long time looking for this emerald set, and the moment I saw you, I knew it would be perfect. Our little sister is beautiful and elegant; she just needs a fine set of jewelry to match. How about I help you put it on now?"
"No, that's alright!" Rebekah quickly declined, closing the lid. "My outfit today doesn't match. Thank you, Xavier. I'll wear it another time."
"Fair enough," Xavier said, his gaze lingering on her. The more he looked at her, the more he liked her. He knew the Powell family's daughter would be a great beauty.
Blaze calmly produced a folder and handed it to Rebekah. "This is twenty percent of the shares in the Powell Group."
This time, her phone did fall, clattering loudly on the table. All three brothers turned to look at her.
Twenty percent of the Powell Group! Given the company's current market value, she could earn billions in dividends every year without lifting a finger. A wave of panic washed over her. She looked at Blaze and forced a smile.
"Blaze, this gift is far too valuable. Just being welcomed back into the family is more than enough. You don't need to give me something like this."
