My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 64

Chapter 64

Jensen sat in his brightly lit office, pinching the bridge of his nose, his fatigue palpable. He had just instructed his assistant to handle the situation with Rebekah.

He hadn’t expected the assistant to walk back in before even leaving the room.

“Mr. Hawthorne, all the negative posts about Miss Fletcher online are gone.”

Jensen opened his eyes and looked up. The assistant, ever perceptive, handed him a tablet.

Jensen’s long, elegant fingers swiped across the screen. He saw that it was true-not a single trace of the smear campaign against Rebekah remained. Even the comments had been scrubbed clean.

Such a swift and thorough job wasn’t that bastard Benjamin’s style.

“Mr. Hawthorne,” the assistant ventured, “whoever helped Miss Fletcher must be very powerful. We were trying to delete posts and manage the comments during the day, but this person’s methods were far more decisive and effective.”

Jensen casually handed the tablet back. “Find them,” he said, his voice flat.

The assistant nodded and left the office.

Jensen pulled out his phone, his gaze softening at the bright profile of Rebekah on his lock screen-a photo he had secretly taken that day at Ridgeview.

“It’s no wonder people are drawn to you,” he murmured. “But soon, you’ll only be mine.”

After a restless night, Rebekah woke up looking pale and worn.

At breakfast, Hortensia and Shawn shot her disgusted looks before leaving the table without eating a bite. Benjamin was in a foul mood, which only darkened when he saw Rebekah. He had spent the entire night trying to find out who had helped her, all to no avail. Now he had to go to work exhausted and frustrated.

“Rebekah, who’s helping you?” he demanded, his eyes fixed on her.

She gave him a cool, dismissive glance. “What are you talking about?”

“Don’t play dumb. The videos and posts about you have all been deleted. That’s not the

Forrester Group’s work, and it’s not the Fletchers. So who is it?”

Rebekah met his gaze evenly. “The posts about me are gone, so the Forrester Group is no longer

at risk. Isn’t that a good thing for you? What are you so angry about?”

He was stunned by her defiance. “Just answer my question!” he snapped.

Rebekah remained silent.

Chapter 64

Benjamin slammed his utensils down and stormed out of the house.

Old Mr. Forrester, reverting to his kind and grandfatherly demeanor from before the scandal, tried to soothe Rebekah. “That’s just how Benjamin is. I’ll deal with him when he gets back. Don’t you pay him any mind, Rebekah.”

After yesterday, however, Rebekah understood what truly mattered to the old man.

She could hardly fault him for putting the Forrester Group first; it was the foundation of everything they had. The true wound was his refusal to believe in her.

She had agreed to stay for three months to repay his kindness over the years, but she had never given up on the idea of divorce. She decided it was time to give him a warning.

“Grandfather, I need to talk to you.”

Seeing her serious expression, Old Mr. Forrester guessed it was something important. He felt guilty about how he’d treated her yesterday and was prepared to agree to whatever she asked.

“I want to divorce Benjamin, and I hope you’ll approve. But whether you do or not, I’m going through with it.”

Old Mr. Forrester stared at her in disbelief, a flicker of panic in his eyes. “Rebekah, is this about yesterday? Are you angry with me? I apologize. I was just so worried about the Forrester Group… I didn’t mean what I said. Please, don’t take it to heart.”
