My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Rebekah shook her head. “Grandfather, this has nothing to do with yesterday. I don’t want to hide it from you any longer-we were already planning to divorce before you were hospitalized.” “You’re the only person in this family who’s been kind to me,” she added softly. “I didn’t want to keep you in the dark.”

Old Mr. Forrester started to argue, but Rebekah excused herself, saying she was finished with breakfast, and left the room.

The butler approached him as he watched her go. Old Mr. Forrester sighed, confiding in him, “She resents me for what happened.”

The internet has a short memory. Once the flood of negative press about her vanished, a fragile peace seemed to return. However, Rebekah noticed a change in Basil, the designer mentoring her. He grew distant. Before, he had been enthusiastic about her sketches, even calling to discuss them in detail. Now, when she sent him her work, she received only a curt “Okay” in

response.

Assuming he was busy, she didn’t press the issue.

As her wrist had started to feel a bit better, she decided to go to the hospital for a check-up and to speak with her department head about resigning. The chief had already discussed the matter with her. Her hand might not be steady enough for surgery, but she could still contribute to other fields of medicine. Resignation wasn’t her only option. He had given her time to think it over, urging her not to make a hasty decision.

Rebekah had done a lot of thinking lately. She knew she had to accept what she had lost before she could truly start over. For a surgeon, her hands were everything. Her time at the hospital

was over.

At the hospital, Rebekah had just finished her check-up and was on her way to the chief’s office when she ran into him in the lobby.

He was delighted to see her. “Rebekah! Have you thought any more about what we discussed?”

His directness made her feel a little sheepish. “I’m sorry, Chief. I’ve given it a lot of thought, and I’ve decided to leave the hospital.”

He sighed. “I was hoping you’d stay. I could have found a suitable position for you. But if you’ve made up your mind, I won’t stand in your way.”

The chief had always been good to her, a mentor and a friend, and she had immense respect for him. They chatted for a few minutes before heading off to process her resignation paperwork.

Just then, Benjamin arrived with Candice. He spotted Rebekah immediately.
