My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 75

Chapter 75

“Tell me the truth, Amelia. Is Arthur my son?”

Cassia’s heart slammed against her ribs. The world tilted as the weight of his question crashed down. Her throat went dry, her palms slick with sweat. She froze, her lips parting but no words coming, her eyes darting nervously over his face. How does he know?

Or maybe… maybe he wasn’t certain, maybe it was just suspicion, because Arthur looked so much like him.

“Amelia…” Aiden’s voice softened, pleading, almost breaking.

Cassia forced her voice to stay steady. “Arthur is not your son.” The words left her mouth firmly, but inside, she was shaking.

She snatched the keys from his hand, desperate to escape, but before she reached the door, Aiden moved with Alpha speed, planting himself there, his broad frame filling the doorway.

“I saw the pregnancy test result that day,” he said, his eyes burning into hers. “Is Arthur that child?”

Tears pricked her vision. No, no, he cannot know. Her chest tightened with panic. She couldn’t tell him the truth. She wouldn’t. Protecting Arthur was all that mattered now.

Why didn’t I destroy that damn test result? Why did I leave it behind?

She turned her face away, refusing his eyes. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Her voice was clipped, strained.

“Yes, you do,” he insisted, stepping closer. His desperation was palpable. “You were carrying my child when you left. And Arthur…”

Cassia let out a bitter, trembling laugh, cutting him off. “Fine. Yes, I was pregnant with your child when I left. But guess what, Aiden?” Her voice cracked, breaking as tears spilled free. “I lost him. I lost the baby when three men ambushed me and beat me almost to death. Do you hear me? I lost your child!”

Her voice shook violently, every word stabbing the air, before she crumpled, sobbing.

Aiden’s chest caved in. His lips parted, but no sound came. Then, without hesitation, he pulled her into his arms, crushing her trembling frame against his chest.

Cassia stiffened in shock, but he held her tighter, one hand stroking her back, his voice raw and broken against her ear. “I’m sorry… Gods, I’m so sorry for everything you suffered because of me. You shouldn’t have gone through that alone.”

His scent engulfed her, and just like before, sparks raced down her spine. Her wolf stirred, weak but unmistakably alive. She froze, confused, breath hitching.

Why… why do I feel this again? My wolf died the day he rejected me. But why does she suddenly feels alive when i’m close to Aiden? Confusion flickered in her eyes.

She shoved him away abruptly, wiping her tears, her face hardening.

“I lost that child. Arthur isn’t yours. He’s Damien’s and mine. Stay away from us.” Her voice was steel, though her hands shook as she pushed past him with all her strength.

She flung the door open, stormed down the hall, and locked herself inside the guest room.

Leaning against the door, she slid down to the floor, tears spilling uncontrollably.

James’s chest tightened. He remembered.

Those weren’t Sofia’s clothes. They were Eva’s and Cassia’s.

It was Aiden who had kept the clothes long before she arrived… James remembered when Amelia was pregnant and everyone thought the baby would be a boy… Aiden had bought so many male outfits. But when it turned out to be a girl, most of those clothes were tucked away in Eva’s closet.

Later, when Alpha Alaric ordered both Eva’s belongings and Amelia’s clothes to be burned, Aiden had been furious when he found out. Though many were destroyed, he managed to save a few and kept them hidden. Today, he had placed them carefully in the wardrobe for her.

“No, you can use the clothes. They’re yours… all yours,” James said.

Cassia gave him a puzzled look. “Mine?”

“Yes. Some of your old clothes, from when you were still here,” James explained.

Cassia hesitated, then walked to the wardrobe. She opened it and pulled out a gown. Her breath caught…she recognized it instantly. She reached for two more. They were hers too. her clothes, perfectly folded, preserved.

Tears stung her eyes as she stared at them in disbelief.

“You… you kept the clothes?” she whispered, her voice trembling.

James shook his head. “No. Aiden did.”
