Chapter 10
Nicholas
What the doctor said hits me like a truck. The words sexually assaulted replay in my head.
My legs finally give up as I exit the general hospital and sit on a bench. The rain is slowly coming to a stop, but it’s enough to get me soaked. As the doctor’s words ring repeatedly, I put my hands on my head. I think about the state I found her in. What could have happened had she not been able to use our mate bond to mind–link me? My lycan is growling and is sad all at once. However, we are both angry, and my body is shaking. I want to rip something apart.
Blade sits next to me, placing a hand on my shoulder.
“Nick, the Luna will be alright,” he says softly.
“What if she didn’t reach me via mind link? What could have happened to her?”

But she did reach you, and you saved her. No need to dwell on the what–ifs and why,” Blade says, ” Anyway, I know something that will make you feel slightly better, follow me.‘
I glance at him. He gets on his feet, urging me to do the same.
“We should be searching for the man who escaped.”
“My dad has that handled, Alpha.” he turns on his heel, and I follow him.
Blade takes me to the precinct where we hold the most dangerous rogues and shifter slayers. They are all on the death penalty for horrible crimes against humanity and the realm. They have no chance of getting out. However, once a blue moon, the wardens make them fight for their freedom, but no one has been able to win. I smirk and glance at my beta. He brought me here to blow some steam.
We enter the highly secured facility and go into the fighting space. It’s a large cage with all kinds of

lined up.
“I already mind–linked the wardens to bring out the criminals. Now, I want you to unleash all your anger in this cage,” he says.
“This won’t help me feel better, Blade. I want the blood of the person who hurt my mate,” I growl.
“I know, and you will have it. Once the Luna wakes, she will tell us who did it.”
“Alpha, beta!”
The warden, a tall, broad–shouldered man with a bald head, approaches us, with him the female warden.
We exchange pleasantries, and then a group of rogues and shifter slayers, led by several guards, appear in our direction. The criminals are menacing and ready for a fight. The warden must have told them that whosoever beats me can leave the precinct.
“Go wild, my friend,” Blade taps my shoulder as he exits the cage.
“We are fighting the Prince of Lycans?” one of them growls, seeming hesitant to fight me. The others

take a step back, too.
“I won’t use my powers. And if any of you manage to kill me, you’ll be set free,” I tell them. They snarl in excitement at the thought of leaving this dreadful prison. They cach pick out a weapon. More than ten surround me while the others wait their turn, watching eagerly.
“Three, two, one, let the fight begin!” the warden shouts, blowing a whistle. The guards clap and howl in excitement.
All ten attack me at once, caging and trying to hit me, but I scatter them with one move. I attack them, unleashing the anger I have within me.
Doctor White’s words repeat in my head as I tear one rogue after another. I feel like a man possessed. The fury is consuming; if it takes over, I’m afraid there will be no return for me.
“Severe vaginal trauma,”
“She’s malnourished and dehydrated,”
“Fractured lateral ribs,”
“I think she attempted suicide,”
