Ann greeted Peter, who turned away to pluck leaves from a tree, pretending not to hear.

York instructed the butler, "Mr. Quinn, let's leave the rest for tomorrow."

She tested the waters. "York, your mother kicked Ethan and me out of the apartment. She also threatened me, saying that if you and your wife get divorced, she won't let me off the hook. York, what should I do now?"

York turned around, his tone neutral. "Don't worry. My wife and I are not getting divorced. My mother can't threaten you."
