Claudia stared into York's eyes. "If I told you Ann did all of this on purpose, would you believe me?"
"I believe Ann wouldn't do that," York said without hesitation.
Claudia's eyes welled with tears, but she stubbornly refused to cry. "Since you've chosen to believe her, why even bother asking me?"
They locked eyes for a moment before York looked away.
He pushed Claudia back. "If you have nothing more to say, then be quiet."
Claudia stumbled backward several steps from the force of his push.
Seeing York shove his sister right in front of him, Eddy's vision turned red with rage.
Ignoring the searing pain in his wrist, he wrenched himself free from York's grasp.
There was a sickening pop as the joint dislocated. York's eyes widened in shock, and he immediately let go.
Eddy cradled his injured arm, his face contorted in pain, nearly collapsing.
"Eddy!" Both York and Claudia rushed forward.
Claudia, crying, pushed York away.
She supported her brother, her own eyes swimming with tears. "Eddy, don't be scared. I'll take you to a doctor."
Eddy's face was as white as a sheet, but his eyes were bloodshot. "Sis, when I'm older, I'll make him pay for this!"
Claudia couldn't hold back her tears any longer.
Seeing her so distraught, York felt a sharp pain in his chest.
He stepped in front of her, his voice softening unconsciously.
"Claudia, don't cry. I didn't control my strength properly. I'll call the best doctor for Eddy right now."
Claudia held onto her brother, looking up at York.
Her tears flowed freely, unstoppable.
Her lips trembled as she forced a bitter, self-mocking smile.
The more she smiled, the harder she cried.
