His words made Ann's face freeze.

Hearing this assurance, Ann's tense expression softened slightly.

She tried to maintain her composure. "Mrs. Ferguson, I'll trust you for now."

Claudia watched Ann's hasty departure, then turned her attention back to the man beside her.

Rock Sayer cleared his throat. "I can, but I just moved into a new place. I need you to come check it out. I'm worried the vibe is off and it's messing with my sleep."

"I'm a doctor, not a psychic."

"Doesn't matter what you are, as long as you can make me sleep," Rock Sayer said, grabbing her arm and pulling her along.
