No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 259

Wendy knew from experience. If her son was dead set against divorce, there was nothing she could do.

She picked up her bag and stood to leave, offering one last piece of advice. "York, if you keep this up, not even a saint will be able to help you!"

The day she discovered her husband was cheating, her world felt completely shattered. No one really understands that kind of torment — the gut-wrenching conflict, the crushing pain — unless they've lived through it.

She hadn't gotten a divorce because of their intertwined family interests and her two children. Most importantly, her husband had come to his senses in time. The day after she filed for divorce and left with the children, he had begged them to come back. Then, right in front of her, he gave the other woman and her child a large sum of money and sent them to Caledon that very night. He promised never to leave the country and never to see them again. That was how their family was saved.

Her husband's affair had just been a fling. But her son was involved with his first love, a woman with whom he had a real history. Her son couldn't be ruthless, couldn't cut ties, and would be shackled by this for the rest of his life.

He had feelings for Ann and doted on their child, so he was content with the situation. But Claudia was the innocent one, the one who was suffering, the one in agony. She had to find a way to help them divorce, to set Claudia free.

After Wendy left, York sat alone in his office, lost in thought. When Mark knocked and entered, York suddenly asked, "What kind of mindset does a woman have if she conspires with an outsider to drug her own husband?"

Mark was taken aback by York's expression. "Mr. Ferguson, that's… hard to say."

"Just say whatever comes to mind," York insisted.

Pressed, Mark cautiously ventured, "A woman who would do something like that… probably has a grudge against her husband. If murder weren't illegal, she'd probably be using rat poison."

Seeing his boss's face grow darker and darker, Mark trailed off. From the looks of it, could he be talking about the madam? This was some major gossip.
