No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 313

Late that night, at Grant Manor.

The butler led Rock and Claudia into the living room.

Claudia greeted Old Mr. Grant politely.

The old man glanced at the antique wall clock. "Dr. Watkins, what brings you and Mr. Sayer to Grant Manor so late? Is there an emergency?"

Claudia was direct. "Mr. Grant, I had a fight with my husband tonight. I was hoping I could stay here for a few days."

Outsiders might not know about York's affair and their impending divorce, but it was no secret in Capital City's elite circles. There was no point in hiding it.

Old Mr. Grant's face stayed calm as he declined. "Couples argue and then work it out, Dr. Watkins. If you don't feel like going home, I can book you a hotel or a quiet place in the mountains."

Just as he finished speaking, Cyrus Grant's voice drifted down from the second floor. "Grandfather, I'll handle my own guests."

Claudia looked up and saw Cyrus by the second-floor railing.

She gave Rock a look. He turned and left as Claudia hurried up the stairs.

Cyrus's sharp eyes landed on Claudia's tear-stained face. "Disgusted again?"

Claudia crouched beside his wheelchair, looking aggrieved, and nodded seriously.

"Uncle Cyrus," she said, "York lied to me. He said he had a business dinner, but he was really meeting his mistress. I caught them in the act."

A smile tugged at the corner of Cyrus's mouth.

After spending some time with her, he had figured out her quirks. When she was treating him, she was the boss. In their free time, she called him Mr. Cyrus. But whenever she needed a favor, she'd start buttering him up by calling him 'Uncle Cyrus.'

Cyrus raised an eyebrow. "How long are you planning to hide out here?"

Claudia thought for a moment. "A week."

York still suspected her last bout of nausea was morning sickness, not the flu. She had thrown him off by telling him she had her period, but his repeated probing showed he wasn't convinced. Tonight's incident was the perfect excuse to get away and hide out at Grant Manor for a week, dodging his suspicions.

Seeing Cyrus lost in thought and not agreeing right away, Claudia added, "Uncle Cyrus, if my mood isn't right, it'll slow your recovery. If a week is too long, how about five days? Just five."

Cyrus glanced at her sideways. "With negotiating skills like that, you'd gamble away your whole family fortune at the table."
