No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 362

It always seemed like the best kids belonged to other people.

She wondered how Hugh managed to raise a child so smart, so well-behaved, and so charmingly articulate.

He really knew how to win people over.

With some time left before her shift ended, Claudia brought the boy into her office.

Her assistant, Mira, came over to play with Hawley, asking Claudia on the side, "Director Watkins, still haven't gotten that divorce?"

Claudia shook her head, her expression blank.

Mira leaned in conspiratorially. "Director Watkins, I have an idea. I guarantee it'll work."

Intrigued, Claudia put down the patient file she was holding and leaned closer. "What is it?"

Mira explained, "My cousin was in the same situation as you. Her husband cheated, had a child with another woman, and treated my cousin like a free maid for his new family. At first, he absolutely refused to divorce."

"But my cousin was at her wit's end," Mira continued. "So she played the part, crying and saying she couldn't let go, and she agreed to give him one more chance. She convinced him to divorce her first, then let him pursue her all over again. And just like that, they were divorced."

Claudia thought it might just work.

York wasn't easy to fool, but maybe, in a moment of weakness, he would agree to it.

She had to find an opportunity to try.

After work, Claudia called home to let them know she was taking Hawley out for dinner.

In the parking lot in front of the outpatient building, York frowned as he saw Claudia leaving work with Hugh's son.

Before Claudia could speak, York said, "I had a jade sculpture commissioned as a housewarming gift for your parents. I'll drive you home and pay them a visit."

Claudia stared at York, remembering Mira's story.

She cleared her throat. "I've already booked a table to take Hawley to dinner. I'm not going home just yet."

York replied, "Perfect. We'll go together."
