No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 393

On the last Monday of May, at 11:45 a.m.

York and Claudia walked out of city hall side by side.

Claudia hadn't expected the divorce to go so smoothly.

She held up the divorce papers, examining it in the sunlight.

No hitches. No thirty-day cooling-off period.

A slow smile spread across Claudia's lips. The weight and tension that had burdened her for so long vanished, replaced by an incredible sense of relief.

The sight of her smile, slowly blooming, was a sharp sting to York's nerves. The papers in his hand was already crumpled from his tight grip.

"Now that we're divorced, are you really this happy?" York asked, his voice laced with pain.

Only then did Claudia remember York was still beside her. She quickly and carefully placed the divorce certificate in her purse.

Her phone was buzzing nonstop. "Well, it's done," she said. "I won't keep you. You have things to do. Just get my suitcase for me, and I'll call a cab."

With the divorce finalized, Claudia's tone toward York had softened.

York suppressed the turmoil churning inside him.

"It's already noon," he said. "Let's have lunch. I'll take you home afterward."

Before Claudia could refuse, he added, "I have something to tell you."

After a moment's thought, Claudia nodded. "Alright, Mr. Ferguson. Let this farewell meal be my treat."

The title 'Mr. Ferguson' immediately soured his mood.

Once they were in the car, York remained sullen and silent.

Seeing this, Claudia ignored him, took out her divorce papers again, and examined it from every angle before pulling out her phone.

She showed none of the sadness expected of a newly divorced woman.
