The moment they got in the car, York pulled her into his arms and held her tight.

No matter how much she cried or struggled, he refused to let go. By the time they stopped, they were both a mess. Spotting a pharmacy through the window, Claudia suddenly said, "I need to use the restroom."

York had the driver pull over. After tidying her up a bit, he said, "I'll go with you."

They got out, and York kept a firm grip on her hand. At the entrance to the chain pharmacy, Claudia stopped. "Don't worry. If only for my parents and my brother, I won't do anything stupid."

York stared at her for a few seconds before letting go.

Inside, Claudia went straight to the counter and asked the pharmacist for the morning-after pill.

Seeing her disheveled hair, swollen eyes, and panicked expression, the pharmacist kindly asked if she needed help calling the police.

Claudia thanked her, took the medicine, and walked out.

York's gaze fell on the box in her hand, and his dark expression grew even stormier.

He didn't say a word, just took her hand and led her back to the car.

The car started moving, and the doors locked automatically.

York reached for the medicine. "Give it to me."

Claudia pushed his hand away, opened the box, popped the pill out, and tossed the empty carton at him.

She put the pill in her mouth and took a swig from the bottle of water he had opened for her earlier.

The next second, York grabbed her chin, forced his fingers into her mouth, and made her throw up the pill.
