No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 96

Ann cautiously approached York, tentatively reaching for his hand. "York, since your wife has already let go and wants us to be together, and since we both can't forget each other, why don't we get back together?"

As she spoke, she pressed her body against his and rose on her tiptoes to kiss him.

York stood perfectly still, as if he were testing something.

Just as Ann's lips were about to touch his, he recoiled and pushed her away.

York turned his back. "The driver is here. Get your things packed and take Ethan home."

Neither his mind nor his body could accept Ann.

This time, he was more certain than ever.

All he felt for Ann was guilt and responsibility, not a single trace of lingering affection.

Ann staggered backward, nearly losing her balance.

She looked at him with disbelief. "York, I've loved you for so many years and sacrificed so much for you. How can you do this to me?"

York turned to face her, his eyes cold and clear.

"Ann," he said, "I know you've sacrificed a lot for me these past six years and endured many hardships. That's why I've tried to fulfill any request you've made. I even falsified a paternity test to protect you and your son. To preserve your dignity, I didn't explain things to my wife. To care for you two, I neglected my wife, hurting her and making her suffer."

York continued, "Ann, I can compensate you and your son in any way possible, but I will absolutely not sacrifice my marriage. Do you understand?"

Ann broke down, crying as she held up her left hand for York to see. "York, look at this!"

When York's gaze fell on the wedding ring on Ann's ring finger, his expression froze.

He reacted instantly, reaching for her hand to remove the ring. "How did you get my wife's wedding ring?"

Ann pulled her hand back. "York, your wife took this ring off and gave it to me herself. Surprising, isn't it?"

York's eyes darkened slowly.

He stepped forward, grabbed her wrist, and forcibly removed the ring.

Ann's hand throbbed with pain, and she cried even harder. "York, your wife doesn't want you anymore!"
