No Memory No Mercy novel Chapter 23

Chapter 23

My disdain for Jonathan was obvious.

He looked at his hand that I had shaken off, and his eyes darkened, a storm brewing in them.

He stared at me unblinkingly, and there was only silence and a chill remaining between us.

Alicia suddenly looked at me very apologetically.

“I’m sorry, Ms.Sawyer.

You got injured because you were in the pool too long that day, right?

It’s all my fault.

If Jonathan hadn’t saved me first, you wouldn’t have needed to go to the hospital.” With eyes full of worry, she sighed before continuing, “Nearly drowning and choking on water isn’t a small matter.

You should get Jonathan to take you to the hospital and get checked out again!” It would’ve been fine if she hadn’t mentioned it, but the moment she did, all I could think about was the humiliation I had suffered that day.

I flung her hand off, my tone as cold as ice.

“That’s not necessary.” I then looked at Jonathan, who was standing behind her.

“Remember to sign the divorce agreement and approve my resignation.” With that, I walked out without even a glance back.

… After leaving Jonathan’s office, I paid Gabrielle a quick visit before heading straight to the hospital.

Once the doctor redressed my wound, I suddenly thought of something and asked him, “Were you the one who called me today?”

“Why?

” The doctor was quite young, and there was a calm and composed air about him.

When he removed his mask, he revealed a very handsome face, where his light brown eyes were looking at me coolly.

I calmed down quite a bit, just feeling his gaze on me.

“The person who answered the call is my ex-husband.

In the future, I don’t want him to know anything more about my condition,” I informed him.

The doctor raised an eyebrow.

“What new trick is this?”

“What?

” I froze, not understanding what he meant.
