Obedience No More He's the One I Deserved novel Chapter 350

Jonathan didn't say another word.

Ethan's breathing hitched and went uneven.

His chest rose and fell hard. A second later, his voice turned rough. "Where's it?"

Jonathan told him the address and tossed him the car keys.

Watching Ethan's retreating, Jonathan's eyes drifted back to Roxanne, still lying on the floor. He let out a soft laugh. "Ms. West, I've got time now. Let's settle this properly."

Roxanne didn't answer. She could barely stop trembling.

If dealing with Ethan was a game of brains, the man in front of her was a lone wolf—cold and deadly.

Jonathan didn't play mind games.

He'd just kill her if he wanted to.

...

Ethan rushed to the crash site. Rescue teams and traffic police were still working nonstop.

Hours went by with no leads.

The police laid out the situation, and his twitching cheeks went numb.

"Mr. Jackson?"

He stayed silent, so they spoke again.

"In this case, please prepare yourself. If she really got swept downstream, it's complicated, and it might not look good."

The words hit Ethan like a weight crushing his chest.

"Please ... Please find her. No matter what."

Hearing the hoarseness in his voice, the police didn't know what to say to ease him. They just nodded seriously. "Don't worry. We'll do everything we can."

But with no clues for hours, searching felt like trying to find a needle in the ocean.

The crews had practically turned the whole river upside down.

Waiting without hope was pure torture.

The police and rescue teams worked in shifts, but Ethan went solo. He changed into rescue gear and dove in, moving through both water and land.

"Boss!"

Tony couldn't stand it anymore. He blurted, "You need to rest. If you keep this up, your body isn't going to hold."

"Scram!"

Ethan's face was pale. Water or sweat dripped from his wet hair, tracing down his forehead and sharp features.

His mind was empty except for one thought.

Find her.

He refused to accept that anything bad could have happened to Dawn. That was impossible!

Tony looked at his boss' bloodshot eyes and could only sigh.

If you knew it would end like this, why start it that way?
