Chapter131.
Menis
Seeming to read my mind, Tyrell rose quickly. “I’ve prepared a warm towel and a specialized toothbrush for you. You shouldn’t be handling cold water right now. Please don’t misunderstand-I’m only following Allen’s instructions to ensure you’re well cared for.”
I couldn’t help but notice his awkwardness, the gentle but clumsy way he tried to tend to me, like a big boy fumbling through the finer points of looking after a woman.
A small smile touched my lips. Thank you, but I can manage on my own. Besides, I’m not accustomed to being waited on.”
Tyrell nodded, offering a slight bow before helping me to the bathroom.
He stood quietly outside, a contented smile playing on his lips. With hands clasped behind his back, he murmured, almost to himself, I can hardly believe I’m so close to my angel. Kay, I will never let you go again.”
Tyrell’s expression brightened with sudden excitement. He pulled out his phone and dialed,”Victor, maintain pressure on the Leslie Group. I want every single person who wronged her to answer for it.”
Though I couldn’t catch the other end of the conversation, Tyrell’s voice grew steely.”Keep the Leslie Group on edge. Whether it’s Leland or Caitlyn, have the PR team coordinate with the lawyers. I want them to face the consequences.”
As I emerged, Tyrell swiftly concluded the call.
The moment he saw me, he promptly appeared with the lunchbox-steaming oatmeal, an array of side dishes, and, to my astonishment, a delicate cherry cake.
I gazed at Tyrell, a wave of emotion washing over me. He truly understood me.
“Is something wrong? Don’t you like it? I used the hotel kitchen to prepare this for you myself. And, I bought a small villa here while I was studying. I didn’t dare invite you without your permission.”
A flicker of nervousness crossed his face as he fidgeted, rubbing his hands together.
I recalled the information Denise had shared about Tyrell: a PhD graduate from the University of Oxford, now a professor. But could this cheerful, boyish man truly be the same person?
I hesitated, unsure of what to say, yet my heart raced-a sweet, unfamiliar sensation surged within me.
Lost for words, my thoughts drifted to Leland.
I searched for memories of our good times, but all I could see were images of Leland and Caitlyn’s intimacy in my family’s villa.
A sudden chill ran down my spine, making me shiver. Tyrell’s eyes widened in concern. He reached for my wrist, checking on me.
“What’s wrong? Are you unwell? Is the wound hurting? Caitlyn kidnapped and beat you, causing you to miscarry. I swear, she won’t escape punishment. Please, don’t worry.”
