Old Dreams No Return (Serena) novel Chapter 293

Chapter 271

Raul left, and I was left alone, feeling heavy-hearted in the spacious hospital room.

When Raul came to see me, I knew that the person who called the ambulance was Leland.

But as determined as my heart used to be, now I am just as miserable.

I still held the bank card given by Tyrell in my hand, even though Nataly told me there was not a penny inside. I tried to believe it, but I still had some

doubts.

My eyes were slightly swollen and I huddled in bed, allowing the cold medicine to be injected into my body.

With tears in my eyes, I didn’t know how to control my mind’s wild and chaotic thoughts.

I looked at my phone and it was already 10 o’clock at night.

Drop by drop, the medicine was finished.

I, however, did not want to ask the nurse to remove the needle. I closed my eyes, longing for my mom and dad.

The door was pushed open and I saw her. “Did she fall asleep? It’s really not easy for young girls nowadays. They don’t even know they have stomach problems. They can even fall asleep while getting an injection.”

I didn’t open my eyes and let the nurse pull out the needle and cover me up before leaving.

Thousands of thoughts rolled through my mind, and my stomach growled with hunger. I couldn’t fall asleep no matter what.

Being alone in a foreign land, I am a stranger. Every time a festival comes, I miss my family even more. I wipe away my tears and tell myself,”Sleep, once I fall asleep, I won’t feel hungry anymore.”

But tossing and turning, I was finally startled by the sound of the ward door opening.

Was it Tyrell?

‘Anya was not well-behaved, she didn’t even tell me when she was sick?”

I felt a bit nauseous and remained silent.

But he directly opened the food box and said, “The most delicious food in New York, come, taste it!”

I hesitated for a moment but then I sat up, watching him wipe my hands and hand me a spoon. Without saying a word, I started eating.

He touched my head and said, “Eat slowly, here is your ID card!”

I was stunned, and I looked up.

“Kaylie? He actually reissued my canceled ID card?

“Well, I still prefer you to be called by your name in your home country. After all, Anya is the name you intended to use when you went to Britain. Can

we not use it here?”

I touched the ID card that had some warmth, and nodded with an indescribable feeling in my heart.

“You came so late, could it be…” The words Nataly said stuck in his throat, preventing him from asking.

“I took Nataly to the hospital and hurriedly went to San Francisco to have your ID card replaced by someone. I felt that the Development Project in Mississippi might need it.”

I was touched and I found that my nervous system was no longer under my control. The feeling of being worried and hesitant made me unsure of how to speak up.
