Chapter 52
I couldn’t run anymore, so I just stopped.
Watching the motorcyclist circle around me, revving his engine, I felt a pang of confusion.
What was he trying to do?
Was he just trying to scare me?
Efrain ran over and stood in front of me, “You’d better stop now. Intentional harm is a jail-worthy offense.”
Just after Efrain finished speaking, the motorcyclist drifted right towards him and directly knocked him 17 feet away.
Thud!” The sound of his body hitting the ground left me dumbfounded.
It was then that I realized, he wasn’t just trying to scare me; he really might kill me.
Seeing Denise and Johan running over, I quickly waved my hands and shouted loudly, “Don’t come over here. Don’t come over here. The man will harm you.”
Turning to the motorcyclist, I screamed hysterically, “Did Caitlyn send you? Did Leroy send you to kill me? Come on. If you have the guts, crash into
me!”
I heard the helmeted motorcyclist let out a chilling laugh, which sent shivers down my spine. The laughter sounded as if it came straight from the depths of hell, like a demonic presence.
But why wasn’t he crashing into me?
Didn’t he want to kill me?
A sense of despair washed over me. This time, Leland, I really had to leave you. Finally, you could be with your new love openly.
Even though I was afraid, feeling a bit desolate, and heartbroken over Leland, I had to admit the fact that he was toying with me.
The motorcyclist kept glancing back, seemingly waiting for someone. And just then, a license plate-less van approached from a distance.
And at that moment, my phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, it was my dear husband.
I quickly answered, Leland, do you hate me so much? You’d go as far as to have me killed?”
“Vroom!” The motorcyclist, seeing me answer the phone, drifted towards me. My mind went blank.
Was this the end for me?
Leland, why are you doing this to me? I love you so much, and you said you loved me. Why are you deceiving me?
“Maybe if I die, you will be happy, right? The world is truly not worth it. I don’t want to come back in the next life anymore.”
I shouted into the phone with my eyes closed. But when I opened my eyes again, Johan was lying in a pool of blood.
The phone shattered on the ground.
I rushed towards Johan, “Johan, no! Are you all demons? He is just a man about to turn sixty, Did Caitlyn pay you 12 million dollars for my life? I will give you 200 million dollars. Do you hear me? I, Kaylie Perez, mean what I say.200 million dollars for Caitlyn and Leland’s lives!”
