Chapter 77

Мета

With that, Leland threw the folder at me, looking haughty.

I scoffed at myself in my heart, “Kaylie, look at what you’ve done. You’ve been wasting your time all along. The transfer contract you prepared turned out to be totally pointless. He had his own contract ready ages ago, just sitting there waiting for you to sign it. What a joke!”

I smirked, knowing that I had already signed a transfer contract. I deceived him into signing the divorce agreement, and all the property listed on it was already given to him by me.

I intended to give these documents along with the divorce agreement to him before I left, but now he clearly couldn’t wait any longer.

However, when I saw that the signature at the end of the contract was Caitlyn’s, I became furious.

I forcefully threw the document at Leland and demanded, “Leland, what are you thinking? I can give you the Perez family’s assets because these are all things you worked so hard to earn. Why are you giving them all to Caitlyn?”

His cold, stern eyes show no emotion.”Does it matter to you?”

I sneered, finding the whole thing utterly absurd, and looked at him coldly. “Do you love her that much? Are you planning to give the company to her and your illegitimate child?”

I had never felt as heartbroken as I did now. Leland’s love for me used to be real, but who had destroyed my happiness?

Was it him or Caitlyn?

These are not your concerns. You just need to sign. It’s two hours until 10 o’clock. If you don’t prepare breakfast and sign, you won’t be allowed to leave the house.”

Thinking of Johan’s funeral, I frowned, my heart hurting intensely.

I struggle to breathe, completely confused about how Leland had become so cold and ruthless.

He wanted me to give all my property to Caitlyn, and he made me prepare breakfast, even though I had never cooked before.

I held back my tears as I washed the prepared vegetables, trying to make breakfast as quickly as possible.

Since I had never cooked before, I panicked, even cutting my finger. Throughout, Leland just sat at the door watching.

His face showed no expression, occasionally frowning, then reaching out and pulling back. I couldn’t see any emotion on his face. I only knew that he had become so unfamiliar.

In a rush and covered in sweat, I served the slightly burnt omelet.
