Chapter 150: Confrontations and Revelations
Chapter 150: Confrontations and Revelations
(Sophia Rivers’s POV)
I stood in the Moonstone Stairwell, blocking Elena’s path with deliberate provocation. My lips curved into a cold smile as I watched her approach.
“Surprised to see me back so soon?” I asked, my voice dripping with false sweetness.
Elena barely glanced at me. “Congratulations.”
She tried to walk past me, but I stepped sideways to block her again. The indifference in her eyes only fueled
my anger.
“You think Marcus completely banished me from the pack?” I laughed bitterly. “He still harbors old feelings for me. This punishment was just to give you an explanation about the Blackthorne family matters.”
I searched her face desperately, hoping to see pain that would ease my own suffering. But Elena’s expression
remained unmoved.
“I don’t care whether Marcus is reluctant to act against you,” she replied coolly. “What matters is my own willingness to do so.”
Her words hit me like ice water. I had expected jealousy, anger, anything but this calm dismissal.
Before I could respond, Elena suddenly grabbed my right hand. Due to my previous injuries causing muscle weakness, I couldn’t pull away.
“What are you doing?” I demanded, panic rising in my throat.
Elena’s fingers traced the red mole on my wrist. “Has this been here since childhood?”
“Yes,” I snapped, confused by the strange question. “I never bothered removing it since others don’t pay
attention to it.”
Elena released my hand, and I yanked it back angrily. My wrist throbbed where she had touched it.
“Aren’t you curious how I knew about the mole?” Elena asked cryptically. “You’ve met your biological parents
but failed to recognize them.”
I stared at her, my mind reeling. “What are you talking about?”
“Don’t regret your past actions,” Elena warned before walking away.
I watched her retreating figure with a dark expression. Biological parents? The thought was irrelevant since they had abandoned me anyway.
At the Advanced Healing Arts Research Symposium in the Medical Conference Chamber, I attended as
Professor Andrew Kelly’s “student.” The room buzzed with excitement as top medical experts and journalists
gathered.
Elena represented the Southern Territory’s medical team in discussions with Professor Kelly’s international research expedition. The meeting focused on summarizing developed supernatural healing techniques.
I engaged confidently with various professors and experts. When they learned that a significant research

extensively.
“Remarkable achievement for someone so young,” one professor commented.
“Professor Kelly’s exceptional domestic student,” another whispered.
I basked in their admiration while noticing that Elena seemed to have fewer distinguished figures around her. The contrast was exactly what I had hoped for.
(Elena Blackwood’s POV)
Hugo Ashworth’s arrival caused another stir at the symposium. Known as the grandson of Professor Theodore Ashworth who had taken control of the great medical program, his rare appearance generated significant attention.
Sophia straightened her posture, expecting him to notice her excellence. But Hugo walked past her without acknowledgment, coming directly to me.
Under everyone’s gaze, he took away my wine glass and handed me moonlight wine instead.
“A Luna shouldn’t drink regular alcohol during formal pack gatherings,” he said quietly.
“I don’t need to socialize,” I protested.
Hugo drank from my glass, and I realized with horror that I had already drunk from it. His territorial nature
regarding shared items was well–known.
“Look at that contrast,” someone whispered nearby. “Elena relies on her mate bond while Sophia contributes genuine academic work.”
I just smiled.
During the symposium, Hugo and I spoke with two Riverside City officials, including Deputy Minister Harrison.
Both attended discreetly to honor the Ashworth family’s influence.
Deputy Minister Harrison requested a private conversation with me. “The Whitmore family found their daughter recently,” he mentioned casually.
“I heard about that,” I replied politely.
“You seem more like a Whitmore family member than the actual daughter they found,” he observed, then
quickly dismissed it. “Just casual observation, of course.”
He invited me to his mate’s upcoming birthday celebration before rejoining the group.
(Sophia Rivers’s POV)
I overheard this conversation from behind a pillar, my face changing dramatically. What did Deputy Minister
Harrison mean by saying Elena was more like a Whitmore family member?
was
The possibility of any connection between Elena and the powerful Whitmore Pack seemed impossible. I dismissed the thought immediately.
(Elena Blackwood’s POV)
After the symposium ended, Hugo and I left the Shadowspire Tower together. The evening air was crisp
against my skin.

What did Deputy Minister Harrison discuss with you?” Hugo asked.
“He invited me to his mate’s birthday celebration,” I replied.
“Is that all?” he pressed.
“What else could there be?” I questioned.
Hugo smiled teasingly. “I suppose I’ll reluctantly attend as well.”
A car horn interrupted our conversation. We turned to see Marcus in the back seat of his vehicle.
He looked past me to Hugo. “Would you like a ride?” he asked without showing emotion.
Hugo politely declined. “I have my own transportation, thank you.”
“Missed opportunity,” Marcus responded with meaningful ambiguity.
I bid farewell to Hugo and got into Marcus’s car. The leather seats felt cold against my back.
The car ride was filled with oppressive silence until Marcus broke it.
“Was the symposium pleasant?” he asked.
“Quite pleasant,” I replied lightly. “Your former interest Sophia even chatted with me.”

A flicker of complex emotions crossed Marcus’s previously calm face. “Can’t you get through a day without mentioning Sophia Rivers?” he asked with deep, complicated feelings.
“Would you help me investigate the conspiracy if I said I couldn’t?” I challenged.
He remained silent, his jaw tightening.
Amber Stone’s phone buzzed. “Alpha, the former Sandy Parker, now Miss Whitmore, wants to meet with Elena
tomorrow morning.”
Marcus started to refuse, but I interrupted. “I’ll meet with her.”
