Chapter 149: The False Daughter’s Return
Chapter 149: The False Daughter’s Return
(God’s POV)
Sandy Parker and Adrian Whitmore returned to Riverside City together, where Samuel Whitmore and his mate personally came to welcome their supposed daughter. The black luxury sedan pulled up to the Whitmore estate’s grand entrance, its polished surface reflecting the afternoon sunlight.
When Sandy stepped out of the car, she smoothed her designer dress nervously. Her movements were calculated, practiced from hours of rehearsing this moment in her mind.
She walked toward the Whitmore couple with a shy expression, her eyes downcast in what she hoped appeared to be modest humility.
Samuel looked at her expectantly, his weathered face creased with emotion. “Hurry up and greet us.”
Sandy lowered her eyes further, and her voice was exceptionally sweet–at–that moment. “Father, Mother.”
Samuel’s eyes reddened with emotion as tears threatened to spill over. “Child, we finally found you.”

He then helped his mate to her side, his movements gentle and protective. “Sweetheart, look, this is our precious daughter…”
Sandy looked strangely at Dorothea Whitmore, thinking to herself how such a beautiful woman could be mentally unstable. Even in her forties, Dorothea possessed an ethereal beauty that age couldn’t diminish.
Dorothea suddenly changed her expression, her serene face twisting with violent rejection. She threw the doll she was holding at Sandy with surprising force.
“She’s not ” Dorothea shouted, her voice cracking with desperate fury.
This sudden scene stunned both Samuel and Adrian. The doll struck Sandy’s shoulder before falling to the ground with a soft thud.
Sandy stood frozen, barely able to react to being hit. Her carefully rehearsed composure shattered in an
instant.
Samuel grabbed his mate’s shoulders, thinking she was having an episode. His voice remained patient despite his obvious distress.
“Sweetheart! She is our precious daughter! She is our daughter!”
But Dorothea’s eyes turned blood–red with strong resistance. Her entire body trembled with the force of her
conviction.
“She’s not! She’s not my precious daughter, not her! I want to find my real daughter!”
Adrian seemed to sense something deeper in his mother’s reaction. He picked up the doll from the ground,
his amber eyes thoughtful as he studied his mother’s face.
He walked to Dorothea’s side and placed the doll in her hands with infinite gentleness. “Mom, I’ll take you to see our precious daughter in a few days.”
This finally calmed Dorothea down. Her breathing slowed as she clutched the doll to her chest, her eyes

losing their wild intensity.
After comforting his mother, Adrian instructed Jacob Hayes with a subtle nod. “Please take her back to rest.
Jacob Hayes approached respectfully, offering his arm to support Dorothea as they walked toward the
estate’s interior.
Samuel looked confused, his brow furrowed with bewilderment. “Adrian, what do you mean? Isn’t she your sister? The DNA results are right there!”
Sandy’s face turned pale as the blood drained from her cheeks. That scene had indeed frightened her more
than she cared to admit.
She wondered why she would have a mentally unstable biological mother when the DNA tests had confirmed she was the Whitmore family’s daughter.
Adrian didn’t answer his father but turned to Sandy with cold politeness. “You must be tired after the flight. I’ll
have someone take you to rest.”
Sandy nodded, her throat too tight to speak. Although her beautiful mood had been ruined, at least she was confirmed as the Whitmore family’s daughter.
After Benjamin Hayes escorted her to the hotel, Adrian watched her retreating figure with cold eyes. His expression held none of the warmth expected from a brother reuniting with his long–lost sister.
He told his father with quiet conviction, “Father, I believe in Mother’s intuition. She’s not my sister.”
(Sophia Rivers’s POV)
Meanwhile, at Darkwood Lodge, I saw the news about the Whitmore family finding their lost daughter. The
headline blazed across my phone screen in bold letters.
When I realized the woman was Sandy Parker, I was incredulous. My mouth fell open as I stared at her
photograph.
I thought about how I should have used this fool better if I had known she could turn her life around. But it wasn’t too late now since I had “evidence” of Sandy impersonating a lifesaver.
My phone buzzed with missed calls. I discovered two missed calls from Professor Andrew Kelly.
When I called back, the professor’s voice was warm with invitation. “Sophia, I’d like to invite you to return to
the Advanced Healing Arts Research project.”
His tone grew more formal. “It was the Blackwood family’s wish.”
After hanging up, I touched my weakened right hand with tears in my eyes. The fingers barely responded to
my commands, a constant reminder of my fall from grace.
I believed that Marcus still had feelings for me and was only punishing me. Hope bloomed in my chest like a fragile flower.
However, when I thought about how he was punishing me because of Elena, my smile froze and turned to
hatred. The warmth in my eyes transformed into ice–cold fury.
