Chapter 81: The Alpha’s Claim
Chapter 81: The Alpha’s Claim
(Elena’s POV)
I was trapped between Marcus’s chest and the frosted glass, with nowhere to escape. The bath towel only covered half of my body, and the exposed skin was chilling from the cool air, making me shiver.
“Isn’t it? Isn’t one Sophia enough for you to sleep with? You don’t mind the dirt, but I do!” I spat, my voice trembling with both cold and fury.
The words hung in the air like poison. I watched his face transform, the golden eyes darkening to something
dangerous.
Hearing this, Marcus’s expression darkened, and he became even more silent. I had never shown such disgust toward him before, never rejected our mate bond so completely.
I breathed heavily, my soaked body still shivering in his hot embrace. Even without a word, Id feel the intense Alpha pressure radiating from him, like a sharp blade hanging over my head.
The mate bond pulsed between us, his anger feeding into my fear. The bathroom felt suffocaung, steam
rising around us like a prison.
“You’re concerned about Sophia?” Marcus’s voice was laced with dark mockery. “You know me well enough to
know if I was diseased from my encounters.”
I felt breathless, my heart hammering against my ribs. “What do you mean?”
He clarified his words, pressing me against him, his calloused palm igniting a fire on my waist. “I mean you
should know whether I’ve been with her or not.”
“No!” I resisted with tears streaming down my face.
But he forced a claiming kiss upon me, intertwining our fingers against the glass. I initially kept my lips
sealed, but he coaxed me open with his Alpha dominance,
The kiss was overwhelming, possessive. His scent surrounded me, the mate bond pulling at my very soul
despite my resistance.
I felt a surge in my stomach and suddenly vomited, the contents splashing against the bathroom floor.
Marcus’s face turned thunderous at the sight. He grabbed my wrist, forcing me to face him, his golden eyes.
cold and dangerous.
“Do you truly find my touch that repulsive?” His voice was barely controlled.
I was nauseous and with red–rimmed eyes, but I affirmed my aversion despite the mate bond pulling at me. “Yes. I find you disgusting”
“Elena, you just don’t want me to touch you?” His voice was barely controlled, the wolf in him raging at my
rejection.
The Alpha authority pressed down on me like a physical weight. I could see the beast behind his eyes, barely leashed.

Marcus’s desire vanished, replaced by an unfathomable look. “I hope you will always be so strong–willed.”
Sensing the hidden threat in his words, my expression changed drastically, I grabbed him, panic flooding through me.
“What do you intend to do? You promised not to harm David!”
He retorted, his smile cold as winter, “When did I ever make such a promise?”
“You only threaten me with my family!” I accused, desperation making my voice crack.
Marcus repressed his emotions, indifferently brushing off my hand. He smiled coldly, the expression never reaching his eyes.
“I will make you beg me through our mate bond.”
The words sent ice through my veins. The threat was clear, unmistakable.
Marcus left the bathroom with a dark expression, his Alpha aura still crackling with suppressed fury. I was
left frozen in place, filled with an inexplicable sense of foreboding.
The mate bond between us pulsed with his anger and my fear, creating a suffocating ter
follow him even after he departed.
that seemed to
After Marcus left, he did not return to our shared chambers, I stayed awake all night due to his threatening
words, staring at the ceiling as dawn approached,
The next day, when I went back to the Blackthorne Pack Grounds to visit my mother, I saw the Elder Blackthorne Couple and Vivian Blackthorne driving Patricia out of the house.
dinto Richard’s belongings were all cleared into the yard, scattered like discarded memories. I rushed into the courtyard, supporting my mother.
“What are you doing?” I demanded, my voice sharp with outrage.
Patricia protested the eviction, her voice shaking with anger. “This is our house! You have no right!”
Vivian claimed it belonged to the Blackthorne Pack since David’s name was on the property deed. “He’s currently unconscious, so we’re temporarily managing it.”
Matilda Blackthorne added with cruel satisfaction, “I never approved of you mating into the family. Now that my son can’t even protect himself, you have no right to this house.”
retorted, my voice cutting through their excuses. “How dare you bully my mother now that my father is gone? I was raised by the Blackthorne Pack. It’s time to repay you.”
The old woman’s eyes glittered with malice. “Repay us? You should be grateful we took you in.”
Vivian suggested with false sweetness, “Elena, now that you’re a beautiful woman, you should mate with my relative’s son Vincent Hartwell. He’s an older Beta who would cherish you.”
Patricia shielded me, her body trembling with protective fury. “I won’t let you touch her!”
For the first time, I felt the warmth of my mother’s protection. The feeling was beautiful and comforting, like a shield against the world’s cruelty.
Patricia declared with fierce determination, “I will not watch another child be taken away, even if it means fighting the Blackthorne Pack to the end.”

Her words hit me like a physical blow. Another child. She was thinking of her lost daughter.
Vivian revealed with smug satisfaction, Tve already arranged the mating and received a bride price”
Patricia, trembling with anger, accused them of breaking pack law. “This is illegal! You can’t force her!”
I calmed my mother, then coldly challenged Vivian. “I wouldn’t mind mating if bigamy was legal in werewolf
society.”
Vivian dismissed my current mating bond with a wave. “No one has seen evidence of it. Your father was just trying to save face.”
Matilda chimed in with cruel calculation, “Even if you’re mated, you can sever the bond. As long as you can bear pups, even if used.”
The words made my stomach turn. They saw me as nothing more than breeding stock
Vivian instructed people to take me away, but Patricia embraced me tightly. “Don’t touch her!”
At that moment, a luxury car pulled up outside the courtyard. Nathan Sterling emerged from the car with
bodyguards.
Patricia saw him as a beacon of hope. “Nathan!”
Nathan intervened, his voice carrying Alpha authority. “Who are you, and what’s your relationship with Elena?” He stood by my side, asking if I was alright. “I came to see who was causing trouble for her and her mother.”
His presence changed the entire dynamic. The Elder Blackthorne Couple suddenly looked uncertain.
Vivian and Matilda were displeased. Vivian stated with false pride, “My father is the chairman of Thornfield
Industries.
Nathan dismissed the company with casual indifference. “Insignificant compared to the Sterling Family’s
influence.”
He embraced my shoulders, the gesture protective and possessive. “What’s your relationship to Elena?” Vivian, realizing that Nathan might be a powerful figure from the Northern Territory elite, changed her attitude completely. “Elena is my niece. We had a misunderstanding.”
Patricia scoffed at the insincerity. “Misunderstanding? You were trying to sell her!”
Vivian, sensing the situation had turned against her, made an excuse. “We should discuss this later. Family matters, you understand.”
She left with Matilda and their people, but I knew they wouldn’t give up easily. This was just a temporary
retreat
After they left, Nathan apologized with genuine concern. “I’m sorry for the sudden intimacy. Do you mind me taking advantage of the situation?”
I was amused by his sincerity despite everything. “I don’t mind. Thank you for helping us.”
Patricia thanked Nathan, her admiration for him growing. I could see the hope in her eyes, the wish that he could be her son–in–law,
Nathan declared with quiet intensity. “Your and Elena’s affairs are now my concern.”
I was stunned, unsure what to say. The implications of his words hung heavy in the air
My mother was filled with joy, practically glowing with happiness at his declaration.
