Nadine only knew that the injury might affect the nerves in his arm, potentially making it difficult for him to perform delicate movements. But she wasn't aware that it had left such a long scar.
It was early spring, with the weather still fluctuating between warm and cold. When Brad wore long sleeves, the scar was hidden. But once summer arrived and he switched to short sleeves, the scar would be visible at a glance.
Staring at the long scar and recalling the moment Brad saved her, Nadine felt a pang of emotion well up. Brad must've cared about her once upon a time, right?
Otherwise, he could have completely ignored her instead of taking that stab for her.
Looking at Brad's calm and cool expression on the screen, Nadine's anger faded. Her gaze fixed on the scar on his right arm. For a moment, she forgot what she wanted to say.
Brad was drop-dead gorgeous. Whenever he wasn't speaking, his aloof expression naturally kept people at bay. But when he smiled, he looked exceptionally handsome with a warm and inviting presence that enhanced his striking features.
"You went on a business trip?" Looking into the camera, the first words from Brad carried a hint of displeasure.
Today, Sean had called Brad to pick him up from school. Initially, Brad thought he had misheard when he received the call. On his way to the school, he asked Sean, "Where did Mommy go?"
Sean didn't know where Nadine went. He only knew that she was on a business trip.
Brad had Cameron investigate, and it didn't take long to find out where Nadine had gone—Pittsbrew.
How could Nadine leave for Pittsbrew with Sebastian without a word?
Straightening her back, Nadine looked coldly at Brad. "Yes. He's single, and I'm single. What's wrong with that?"
Seeing how confident she was, Brad felt a surge of anger. "Nadine Scott, you left your son at home and ran off to Pittsbrew to meet your lover. Do you think that's appropriate? Have you considered your son's feelings? You're willing to abandon your son just for a lover?"
Sean was still standing by Brad's side, and the latter didn't want to influence him negatively. If it weren't for that, the words Brad wanted to say would've been a hundred times harsher.
Brad was baffled. Nadine and Sebastian had no business dealings, so why were they traveling together?
Sebastian didn't even bring an assistant with him. It was just the two of them—both single and clearly fond of each other. What might happen between them?
